The Topdon Phoenix Smart is a professional diagnostic tool for Cars, equipped with a MDCI Pro VCI that supports the protocols J2534, DoIP, CanFD, D-PDU, and RP1210. The device covers more than 200 vehicle brands and features a 10.1-inch touchscreen, runs on Android 10.0, and supports advanced functions such as online coding and cloud-based programming. A license for 2 years of software updates is included with purchase.
The Phoenix Smart stands out with features such as topology mapping for a visual overview of system status and direct access to secured networks via the FCA Secure Gateway. The functionality can be expanded with various optional modules, including an ADAS calibration kit, a Battery tester (BTMobile), an oscilloscope, and the T-Ninja Box for key programming. This modular setup makes the system suitable for a wide range of diagnostic tasks.
Diagnostic functions:
The Topdon Phoenix Smart performs a full system diagnosis on all electronic systems present in the vehicle. It offers the ability to analyze both generic and manufacturer-specific data.
- Read and clear fault codes: Reads and clears fault codes (DTCs) from all available modules, such as engine, transmission, ABS, and airbags.
- Live data: Displays real-time data from sensors and components in various display modes, such as text, graph, and meter.
- Actuator test: Allows the user to actively control components and systems to check their operation.
- Topology mapping: Provides a visual representation of the communication structure between the various control units in the vehicle, including status and any fault codes per module.
- OBFCM (On-Board Fuel Consumption Monitoring): Enables reading the vehicle's fuel consumption and forwarding the data to the RDW for the APK inspection.
Service and maintenance functions:
This diagnostic device supports more than 35 service and maintenance functions. Available functions may vary by specific vehicle brand, model, and year.
Engine and drivetrain:
- Oil service reset: Resets the vehicle's service interval indicator after an oil change.
- Learn throttle body (ETS): Resets the values of the throttle control after replacement or cleaning.
- Code injectors: Programs new injector codes into the ECU after injector replacement.
- Initialize transmission: Adjusts the shift points of the automatic transmission after maintenance.
- Crankshaft sensor learning: Learns the tolerances of the crankshaft position sensor for accurate misfire detection.
- Register Battery (BMS): Registers a new Battery in the Battery Management System after replacement.
- Adjust clutch: Performs an adjustment of the clutch actuator in automated or dual-clutch transmissions.
- Cylinder balance testing: Checks the power balance of the individual cylinders of the engine.
- Start/stop system deactivate/reset: Configures the start/stop function of the vehicle.
- Turbo adjustment: Resets the learned values of the turbo actuator after replacement or repair.
Exhaust systems:
- Diesel particulate filter regeneration (DPF): Starts a forced regeneration of the DPF to remove accumulated soot.
- Gasoline particulate filter regeneration (GPF): Starts a regeneration process for the gasoline particulate filter.
- AdBlue system reset: Resets the AdBlue system after refilling or in case of faults.
- EGR valve learning: Resets the adaptive values of the exhaust gas recirculation valve.
