The Renault/Nissan (SGW) authorisation tokens are credit with which you can secure gateway from a Renault or Nissan. Unlike annual licence do you charge for this per vehicle off, because every unlock deducts from your credit. For a workshop that services these brands occasionally, that's far more practical than paying for a full year upfront.
The gateway itself operates like other manufacturers' systems. Your device is permitted to reading out, but as soon as you want to know, programming or control, the vehicle needs to verify that your device is authorised. A token answers that question for that specific vehicle, after which you can complete the job normally.

The secure gateway was introduced by the Renault Group around 2019 and 2020 on the market and was subsequently introduced per model or facelift. Also Dacia falls under it, as that brand uses the same technology.

How does it work in practice?
From order to gateway access four steps. The serial number we need from you in order to load the credit onto the correct device.
