The VAG SFD (SGW) This authorisation licence unlocks for one year the security that the Volkswagen Group SFD stands for Schutz Fahrzeug Diagnose On recent models of Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Škoda, those control modules lock themselves locked as soon as you want to do more than read data. What the authorisation enables

- Stalled procedures: A reset that needs to write data during operation stops halfway through.
- Older models: Vehicles manufactured before SFD implementation operate unchanged without authorisation.
Compatible vehicles
SFD was introduced in 2020 launched with the Golf 8, Octavia IV, Leon IV and A3, and has since been rolled out across virtually the entire range. Whether a vehicle has SFD depends on the production date and not solely on the model, as two vehicles of the same model year can differ.

How does it work in practice?
From order to unlocked module it takes four steps. Only the serial number from you.
- Provide serial number: When placing your order, provide the serial number of your device so the correct authorisation can be prepared.
- Code received: The authorisation code arrives by email, typically within one working day.
- Enter the code: Enter the code on the device, after which the authorisation is registered online.
- Unlocking the module: Connect to the vehicle and start the unlock process from the diagnostic software.
