The Autel MaxiCheck MX900 is a wired reader device, equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen and Android 11 as the operating system. This device offers an OE level diagnosis for all accessible vehicle modules from more than 80 American, Asian, and European vehicle brands. The MX900 supports the latest communication protocols, including DoIP and CAN FD. A 1-year software update license is included with purchase.

The device features AutoVIN technology for quick vehicle identification and offers functions such as actuator control (bi-directional control) and more than 40 service and maintenance functions. The software enables generating detailed pre- and post-scan reports, providing an overview of the vehicle's status before and after repair. The system is designed for managing workshop data, including customer and vehicle information.


Diagnostic functions:

The MX900 performs a full system diagnosis at OE level for all available electronic systems of the vehicle. This includes systems such as the engine, transmission, ABS, airbag, instrument panel, and more.

  • Read and clear fault codes: Reads and clears fault codes (DTC's) from all present control units, including generic, manufacturer-specific, and pending codes.
  • Live data: Displays real-time data from sensors and modules in various display modes, such as text, graph, and analog meters. It is possible to record and playback data streams.
  • Actuator control (bi-directional control): Directly controls components and systems to test functionality, such as activating relays, injectors, fans, or performing system-independent tests.
  • ECU information: Retrieves detailed information from the control unit, such as type, version numbers, and other specifications.
  • Scan vehicle identification number (VIN): Automatically identifies the vehicle via the AutoVIN function.

Service and maintenance functions:

This device supports more than 40 service and maintenance functions. Available functions may vary by vehicle make, model, and year. The software provides access to a wide range of reset, calibration, and adjustment procedures.

Engine and drivetrain:

  • Reset oil and service interval: Resets the vehicle's service and oil interval system after maintenance.
  • Learn throttle body: Resets and calibrates the throttle position sensor after cleaning or replacement.
  • Code injector: Programs new injector codes into the engine control unit (ECU) for correct fuel injection.
  • Reset transmission adaptation values: Restores the learning values of the automatic transmission to factory settings.
  • Learn crankshaft position sensor: Performs a procedure to let the ECU learn the tolerances of the crankshaft sensor.
  • Adjust fuel/air ratio (A/F): Adjusts the fuel/air ratio for optimal performance and emissions.
  • Configure start/stop system: Activates or deactivates the automatic start/stop function of the engine.
  • Activate electronic water pump: Starts the electronic water pump to bleed the cooling system.
  • Relative compression test: Performs a test to measure the compression per cylinder relative to each other.
  • Learn variable geometry turbo (VGT): Calibrates the actuator of the variable geometry turbo.

Exhaust systems:

  • Diesel particulate filter regeneration (DPF): Forces the regeneration of the DPF to burn accumulated soot and clear blockages.
  • Reset AdBlue system (SCR): Resets the SCR system after refilling AdBlue or after component replacement.
  • Learn EGR valve: Adjusts the values of the exhaust gas recirculation valve after cleaning or replacement.

Brakes:

  • Electronic parking brake (EPB) service mode: Opens and closes the calipers of the electronic parking brake for replacing brake pads or discs.
  • Bleed brakes (ABS): Performs an automated procedure to remove air from the ABS brake system.

Steering and suspension:

  • Calibrate steering angle sensor (SAS): Calibrates the sensor that measures the position and rotation angle of the steering wheel.
  • Calibrate air suspension: Adjusts the ride height of the air suspension and calibrates the level sensors.

Body and electronics:

  • Register Battery (BMS): Registers a new Battery in the Battery Management System after replacement.
  • Reset tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS): Programs sensors and resets the TPMS after a tire change or sensor replacement.
  • Learn keys and immobilizer (IMMO): Programs new keys or remote controls into the immobilizer system.
  • Seat calibration: Calibrates the positions of electrically adjustable seats.
  • Initialize sunroof and windows: Resets and programs the start and end positions of the sunroof and electric windows.
  • Adjust headlights: Performs the basic adjustment of adaptive headlights.
  • Initialize rain and light sensor: Calibrates the sensitivity and operation of the rain and light sensors.
  • Deactivate/activate transport mode: Switches the vehicle's transport mode on or off.
  • Change language: Adjusts the display language of the instrument panel or infotainment system.

Safety systems:

  • Reset airbag module: Resets the airbag module and removes crash data after a repair.
  • Calibrate adaptive cruise control (ACC): Calibrates the radar sensor of the adaptive cruise control.
  • Calibrate yaw rate sensor: Performs calibration of the sensor that measures the vehicle's rotation around its vertical axis.

Hybrid and electric:

  • High voltage Battery diagnostics: Reads status information and fault codes from the battery pack of hybrid and electric vehicles.
  • Deactivate/activate high voltage system: Safely switches off the high voltage system for maintenance and then switches it back on.

General functions:

  • Bleed coolant: Performs an automated procedure for bleeding the cooling system.
  • Adjust odometer: Corrects the odometer reading on a new instrument cluster after replacement.
  • Change tire size: Programs the new tire circumference into the vehicle modules for correct speed display.

The Autel MaxiCheck MX900 offers various functions for data management and reporting, designed to increase workshop efficiency.

Cloud and reporting functions:

  • Data recording and playback: Enables recording live data and playing it back later for analysis.
  • Pre- and post-scan reporting: Generates reports documenting the status of the vehicle before and after diagnosis or repair. These reports can be printed via Wi-Fi.

Other special features:

  • AutoVIN technology: Automatically identifies the make, model, and year of the vehicle.
