The OBDSTAR M041 is an adapter cable that converts a Euro V 6-pin OBD connection to a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector. The cable is designed for use with motorcycles equipped with a 6-pin diagnostic port according to the Euro V standard. The male side connects to the 6-pin motorcycle port, and the female side provides a 16-pin OBD2 output for connection to diagnostic equipment.

The adapter cable adapts the pin configuration and housing shape of the 6-pin Euro V port to the OBD2 format, ensuring that the relevant signal lines — including the K-line and CAN-bus communication connections — are correctly routed to the diagnostic connector. This allows a connected reader to communicate with the motorcycle’s engine control unit (ECU) via the standard OBD2 protocol. The cable is exclusively compatible with OBDSTAR readers or programmers.

  • Reading fault codes (DTC): The cable enables communication with the motorcycle’s ECU, allowing stored fault codes to be read via the OBD2 interface of the OBDSTAR device.
  • Clearing fault codes: After diagnosis, fault codes can be cleared via the connected OBDSTAR reader device, provided the ECU allows this through the active communication link.
  • Reading live data: Real-time sensor data from the engine control unit, such as engine speed, temperature, and fuel pressure, can be displayed via the connection on the OBDSTAR device.
  • ECU programming and coding: Depending on the connected OBDSTAR device, the cable supports programming and coding functions for the control unit of compatible motorcycles.
