This adapter cable connects the round 14-pin diagnostic connector of the first-generation Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Volkswagen LT to a scan tool with a 16-pin OBD2 plug.

In these vans, the diagnostic lines of the control units run through the 14-pin connector. This gives access to, among others, the engine management, ABS, airbag and starter interruption. The cable converts the connector physically. The scan tool itself must support the K-line protocols of this generation.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕Only for models with the round 14-pin connector; later Sprinters have a 16-pin OBD2 connector.
✕Which control units you can reach varies by model, year of manufacture and specification.

Good to know: The 14-pin connector is round and does not resemble the trapezoidal 16-pin OBD2 connector. Switch the ignition on before connecting the scan tool.
