The Mercedes 14-pin to 16-pin adapter cable connects modern diagnostic equipment with older Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen vans. This adapter links the round, vehicle-specific 14-pin connector to a standard 16-pin OBD2 interface. The product is designed to enable physical communication for reading the available vehicle systems with current testing equipment.

The cable functions as a passive bridge for the communication lines between the vehicle modules and the diagnostic tester. No protocol conversion takes place within the adapter itself. The connected scanner must therefore support the older, brand-specific protocols via the K-line to successfully process data. The connections in the adapter are directly pinned according to the original factory wiring diagram.
