The Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia 3-pin to 16-pin OBD2 adapter cable connects older vehicle models to modern diagnostic equipment. This adapter bridges the vehicle-specific OBD1 connector with a standard OBD2 interface. This enables you to use brand-specific diagnostic software on passenger cars from before the universal OBD2 standardization.
The interface reliably transmits communication signals from the 3-pin diagnostic port to the connected diagnostic scanner. Since the old 3-pin port doesn't supply operating voltage, the cable features two crocodile clamps. These clamps connect directly to the 12V vehicle battery to supply the connected diagnostic device with the required power supply.

Good to know: On these models, the 3-pin diagnostic connector is typically located in the engine bay, near the engine control unit (ECU) or firewall. Always connect the battery terminals first (red to positive, black to ground) before initiating communication.
