The OBDSTAR M008 is an adapter cable that converts a Kawasaki 6-pin diagnostic connector to a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector. The cable is intended for use with Kawasaki motorcycles equipped with a proprietary 6-pin diagnostic port and allows these vehicles to be connected to diagnostic equipment with a standard OBD2 input. The cable is exclusively compatible with OBDSTAR readers or programmers.

The adapter cable connects the brand-specific 6-pin connector on the motorcycle side to the 16-pin OBD2 port of the diagnostic device. Through this connection, the diagnostic protocols of the motorcycle are transmitted to the connected OBDSTAR device, enabling functions such as reading fault codes and performing system diagnostics. The cable provides a physical and electrical adaptation between the two different connector standards without affecting signal integrity.

ADVANTAGES

Allows direct connection between the Kawasaki 6-pin diagnostic port and a standard OBD2 diagnostic cable without additional adapters.
The brand-specific connector fits precisely onto the original diagnostic port of Kawasaki motorcycles, ensuring a stable connection.
Compact size makes the cable easy to carry as part of OBDSTAR diagnostic kits for motorcycles.

KEY POINTS

The adapter cable is exclusively suitable for Kawasaki motorcycles with a 6-pin diagnostic connector and is not usable for other brands or connector types.
The cable is only compatible with OBDSTAR readers or programmers and does not work with diagnostic equipment from other manufacturers.
Not all Kawasaki models and years are compatible; please consult the OBDSTAR vehicle list for confirmed support.

Applications and functionalities

The Adapter Cable supports the following diagnostic functions when used with compatible OBDSTAR equipment on Kawasaki Motorcycles:

  • Reading fault codes (DTC): Fault codes in the motorcycle systems are read via the 6-pin diagnostic port and transmitted to the OBDSTAR device for analysis.
  • Clearing fault codes: After diagnosis and repair, stored fault codes in the motorcycle system can be cleared via the connected OBDSTAR device.
  • Live data reading: Current sensor values and system parameters are read in real time via the diagnostic connection for inspection and fault determination.
  • System diagnosis: Engine management and control systems of the motorcycle are inspected for faults and deviations via the translated OBD2 connection.
