This adapter cable is designed to connect the 16+32-pin Secure Gateway Module (SGW) connector to a standard 16-pin OBD2 diagnostic tool. The product is intended for use on specific Nissan passenger cars fitted with an SGW security module. The cable connects to the SGW wiring and provides a direct communication link between the diagnostic tool and the vehicle's control units.
The Secure Gateway Module was introduced by the manufacturer to block unauthorised access to the vehicle network. Without this adapter cable, certain service functions, coding and adjustments cannot be carried out via the standard OBD2 port. By physically bridging the SGW, full diagnostic access to all vehicle modules is made possible for maintenance, repair and programming.

What is a Secure Gateway Module (SGW)?
The Secure Gateway Module is a security module introduced by the manufacturer to protect the vehicle network against unauthorised access. The module acts as a firewall between the OBD2 port and the internal CAN bus. Without special authorisation or bypassing, certain write, coding and programming functions are blocked, while basic reading usually remains possible. For workshops and tuners, an SGW bypass is therefore necessary to carry out complete diagnostic and service work.
