Universal Nissan Secure Gateway Module 16+32-pin Adapter Cable
The Nissan 16+32-pin SGW bypass cable is a specialized diagnostic adapter that allows you to bypass the Secure Gateway Module (SGW) present in modern vehicles from Nissan, Infiniti, and Mitsubishi. Introduced around 2020, this module acts as a digital firewall to prevent unauthorized access to vehicle modules via the standard OBD2 port.
This cable makes a direct connection to the original vehicle harness connectors (16- and 32-pin) normally connected to the SGW. By bypassing the SGW, an aftermarket diagnostic tool gains full, bidirectional access to all control units of the vehicle – including functions normally blocked.
Application and functionality:
This cable is intended for use with universal or professional scan tools in workshop environments. Typical functions restored via this bypass include:
- Clear fault codes: Reset DTCs in all modules, including ABS, SRS, BCM, etc.
- Active tests: Controlling components such as fans, pumps, or relays
- Service functions: Oil reset, DPF regeneration, brake bleeding, steering angle sensor calibration
- Configuration and coding: Changing vehicle settings and parameters
The SGW module is usually located behind the dashboard or glove compartment.
