The OBDSTAR M048 is an Adapter Cable that connects an Aprilia or Moto Guzzi Motorcycle diagnostic port to OBDSTAR readers or programmers via a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector. The cable features a Y-split with two connectors on the vehicle side: one 8-pin connector and a second 8-pin connector, which together cover the vehicle-specific connection pattern of Aprilia and Moto Guzzi motorcycles. The cable is equipped with sturdy connector housings that mechanically match the factory specifications of the respective vehicle brands.
The adapter cable converts the non-standard 8+8-pin diagnostic signal from the motorcycle platform to the universal 16-pin OBD2 format, allowing OBDSTAR diagnostic equipment to process the vehicle's communication protocols. The pins in the vehicle connectors are internally linked to the correct pin positions of the OBD2 plug, ensuring signals such as K-line and power lines are correctly transmitted. During use, the cable is connected to the vehicle's diagnostic port and then to the reader via the OBD2 side, enabling communication with the motorcycle's ECU.
