The OBDSTAR M012A is the adapter cable for the 6-pin diagnostic connector found on Suzuki motorcycles. It connects that manufacturer-specific connector to the 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) port on your OBDSTAR diagnostic device. On the motorcycle side, it plugs into the factory diagnostic socket that provides access to the engine control unit (ECU).

Suzuki fitted a proprietary 6-pin diagnostic connector on many of its models instead of a standard OBD2 port. Communication takes place over the K-line. The cable is entirely passive in design: it contains no electronics and requires no separate interface unit between motorcycle and device. What the cable provides is access to the diagnostic link with the ECU, nothing more. The functions you can actually perform depend on your own OBDSTAR device's software and licence; the cable itself adds no vehicle coverage.

  • Engine management (ECU): The control unit for fuel injection and ignition, which is connected via the K-line on the 6-pin connector.
  • Other systems: Whether additional modules are accessible varies by model and depends on your device's coverage.

  • Read fault codes: Retrieve stored error codes from the ECU, including system and fault information displayed by your device.
  • Clear fault codes: Erase the fault memory of the engine management unit after diagnosis and repair.
  • Read live data: Access and display real-time sensor values and operating parameters for analysis during or after use.
  • Request ECU identification: Retrieve system and vehicle identification data from the control unit.
  • Note: Which of these functions are actually available varies by model and by OBDSTAR device.
