The OBDSTAR M012A is an adapter cable that converts a Suzuki 6-pin OBD connector to a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector. The cable is designed for use in motorcycle diagnostics on Suzuki models equipped with a proprietary 6-pin diagnostic connector instead of a standard OBD2 port. The cable is exclusively compatible with OBDSTAR readers or programmers.
The adapter cable connects the 6-pin Suzuki diagnostic connector on the motorcycle to the OBD2 port of the OBDSTAR device. Through this connection, the motorcycle’s diagnostic protocols — including K-line — are transmitted to the reader. The cable allows the OBDSTAR device to communicate with the motorcycle’s engine control unit (ECU) without needing a separate interface unit. The signal transmission is passive via the wiring inside the cable itself.

Applications and functionalities
The M012A Adapter Cable supports the following diagnostic functions via an OBDSTAR device on Suzuki motorcycles with a 6-pin OBD connector.
- Read fault codes (DTC): The device reads stored fault codes from the motorcycle’s ECU via the K-line connection, including information about the system and the fault.
- Clear fault codes: After diagnosis, the read fault codes can be cleared from the engine management unit’s memory via the OBDSTAR device.
- Live data measurement: Real-time sensor values and driving parameters are read and displayed on the OBDSTAR device via the diagnostic cable for analysis during or after use.
- ECU identification: The reading device retrieves system and vehicle identification data from the motorcycle’s ECU via the Adapter Cable.
