This adapter connects the 16-pin diagnostic connector of older Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep passenger cars to the 16-pin OBD2 main cable of your Autel tool. The connector on the vehicle looks like a standard OBD2 connector, but the pin assignment is different.

On these models, the Chrysler CCD bus runs over pins 3 and 11 of the connector. Through this bus, a tester reaches systems such as ABS and airbag. Without the adapter, your tool often reads only the engine management via generic OBD2. With the adapter, you also read the fault codes of the other systems and clear them after the repair. The adapter is included in Autel's official OBD1 adapter set. The tool itself must support the Chrysler diagnostics of this generation.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕Your Autel tool must support Chrysler diagnostics via the CCD bus; the adapter does not convert protocols.
✕A simple EOBD code reader does not work via this adapter; it reads only emissions-related OBD2 data.
✕Not for the 6-pin connector of older Chrysler models; a different adapter is required for that.
✕Which systems you can reach varies by model, year of manufacture and equipment.
