The OBDSTAR M042A is the adapter cable for the manufacturer-specific 8-pin diagnostic port on Indian, Victory and Polaris motorcycles. The vehicle end features the brand-specific 8-pin connector, whilst the device end has a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962)-connector for your OBDSTAR diagnostic tool.

These three manufacturers shared the same 8-pin diagnostic pinout for many years, meaning a single cable works across all three brands. The signal pins are internally routed so that the required K-line or CAN communication reaches your diagnostic device without alteration. The cable length is generous enough for the typically shielded or hard-to-reach diagnostic port location on these motorcycles. The cable unlocks the control units connected to that 8-pin port. What you can do with it afterwards depends on your own tool's software; the cable itself adds no additional coverage or functionality.
