The OBDSTAR N041 connects a Euro V 6-pin diagnostic connector on the vehicle side to a 16-pin OBD2 connector (J1962) on the device side. The adapter is placed between the motorcycle's diagnostic port and your device's OBD2 cable; on the motorcycle, this port is typically located under the seat or fairing.
Motorcycles built to the Euro V emissions standard use a six-pin diagnostic connector that doesn't directly fit a standard OBD2 cable. The adapter routes the six diagnostic lines through to the corresponding pins of the 16-pin interface, enabling communication via the K-line or CAN-bus. The connection is passive: no active conversion takes place.
This adapter is not brand-specific but standard-specific: it unlocks the Euro V connection as such. Which brands and models you can actually read out depends on the coverage of your own OBDSTAR device. The source lists no brands or types, only the standard and connector type.
KEY BENEFITS
IMPORTANT NOTES
Applications and Features
When paired with an OBDSTAR device that supports motorcycles, the adapter enables the following operations on Euro V motorcycles.
Control units you can access
- Electronic control units: the motorcycle's control units connected via the six-pin port become accessible.
- Communication via K-line or CAN-bus: which bus is used varies by motorcycle; both lines are routed through.
What you can do
- Manage fault codes: read diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the electronic control units and clear them after repair.
- Measure live data: monitor real-time values such as engine RPM, coolant temperature, and vehicle speed during or after a test ride.
- Run a system scan: search available ECU systems for fault codes and communication status.
- Check communication: verify that the connection is established via K-line or CAN-bus before proceeding.
- Important: exact model support depends on the OBDSTAR diagnostic software in your device, not on this adapter.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The determining factor is the six-pin Euro V diagnostic connector, not the motorcycle brand. The source links this adapter to the emissions standard and connector type, not to a brand list. All motorcycles built to Euro V standards and equipped with this connector fall within the scope of application.
Motorcycles (general):
- Euro V motorcycles with 6-pin OBD diagnostic port: models manufactured to comply with the Euro V emissions standard, equipped with a 6-pin diagnostic connector.
