What's in the box

The case contains the hardware you use to establish the connection, together with the software rights that unlock the Multi-Purpose Vehicle module. The hardware is the same as in the separate set 70001052; the difference between the diagnostic readers lies in the software module, not in the case. Below, each component is described with its reference number.

Hardware

• Jaltest Link V9 (70001015): The diagnostic interface you connect to the vehicle's diagnostic socket, with DB26 26-pin to the cable and USB-C to the PC.
• Multipin Kit (70002001): Twenty multipins JTP01 through JTP10, each in two colours, the connection cable JTP101 and two power leads — JDC10AM2 with battery clamps and JDC20AM2 for the cigarette lighter socket. This allows you to connect directly into a connector where no dedicated diagnostic cable exists.
• OBD cable, 16-pin (JDC213.9): The standard cable for the regular diagnostic connection.
• USB-C cable (JDC107.9B): The connection between the Link and your laptop.
• Extension cable, 100 cm (JDC100): With a DB26 26-pin connector, the wide connector on the Link itself.
• Case (70003015): The compact design, 505 x 381 x 146 mm.

Software

• Software (29348): The one-time purchase that unlocks the Multi-Purpose Vehicle module.
• Licence activation, twelve months (74001012): Your right to use it for the first year.
• Technical information: The reference material for the software. It is included and not sold separately; access is included with the licence.
• Jaltest GRP: Cojali's workshop software for customers, vehicles and reports, in Basic, Synchro and Enterprise modes; all three can be activated free of charge.

Which vehicles and systems

Jaltest Multi-Purpose Vehicle covers one category: multifunctional vehicles, from the street sweeper to the municipal service vehicle. A manufacturer in the list means support is available, not that every model and year of manufacture is fully supported. The regional breakdown refers to the country of origin of the manufacturer, not the current owner.

Multi-purpose vehicles

Well-known manufacturers of multifunctional vehicles covered by Jaltest Multi-Purpose Vehicle: Aebi, Boschung, Bucher, Hako, Johnston, Kärcher, Ravo and Schmidt.

All 27 multifunctional vehicle manufacturers, split by region:

European includes the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Bobcat is listed under American because the brand originates from the United States, regardless of current ownership. Under Other are two names whose origin could not be traced.

The vehicle systems

• Drivetrain: Engine, transmission and exhaust aftertreatment, including particulate filter, SCR and AdBlue.
• Hydraulics: Pumps, proportional valves and the pressure and flow rate settings of the work circuit.
• Superstructure and sweeping: Control of brush motors, suction fan and other work functions on the superstructure.
• Brakes and chassis: Hydraulic and electronic brake components, suspension and steering.
• Electronics: Central computer, electronic modules, instrument panel and the CAN networks connecting them.

Search by component rather than by vehicle

A sweeping machine is a superstructure on a chassis, with components from various suppliers. If the same system is used in multiple manufacturers, you access it via the component rather than the vehicle.

• Engines: Mercedes-Benz and MTU, Iveco, FPT and Kubota; for these manufacturers there is a dedicated engine cable within the cable set for multifunctional vehicles.
• Generic connection: The 9-pin green Deutsch connector type 2, the standard input on many separate engine and superstructure controllers.
• Transmissions: Hydrostatic, powershift and CVT designs, with adjustment after repair or replacement of a component.
• Hydraulic components: Proportional valves, pumps and the pressure, angle and length sensors on the superstructure.
• Exhaust aftertreatment: Particulate filter, SCR and AdBlue, with the pump, injector and heater as separate components.

What you can do with it

With the Multi-Purpose Vehicle module you read the vehicle's control units, monitor live data and control components. You also use it for maintenance work that requires the software: The particulate filter, the injectors, the calibrations and the service counters.

Diagnostics

• Read fault codes: The fault memory of the control unit, with information about the codes.
• Measurement values: Readings from connected sensors displayed on screen, such as engine speed, hydraulic pressure and temperature.
• Component control: Operate valves, pumps, brush motors and fans individually to monitor their function.
• ECU data: Serial number, software version, operating hours and other information from the control unit.
• Parameters and calibrations: Configure control units and adjust systems.

Maintenance

• Diesel particulate filter (DPF): Force regeneration, and reset soot and ash values after replacement.
• SCR and AdBlue: Reset the system and test the pump, injector and heating element.
• Injector coding: Register new injectors in the engine control unit.
• Hydraulics calibration: Readjust proportional valves and sensors on the superstructure.
• Service interval reset: Reset after a service.

The difference with expert mode

Standard diagnostics means reading, measuring and controlling components. In expert mode, you can also modify parameters in the control units: calibrating sensors and actuators, adjusting operating parameters and regenerating the diesel particulate filter. This mode is included.

Cables and computer

The case includes a 16-pin OBD cable for the standard connection. If the vehicle has a proprietary connector, a separate cable is needed; these cables are available individually and are bundled together in one cable set. The software itself runs on a Windows PC.

• Multi-purpose vehicles (70002005): The cable set for this module includes JDC203A for Mercedes-Benz and MTU, JDC206A for Iveco, JDC217.9 for the 9-pin green Deutsch connector type 2, JDC523A for Kubota and JDC526A for the 19-pin connector on FPT engines.
• Individual cables: Also available separately if you only service one brand in your workshop.
• Computer: The software runs on Windows. Cojali supplies the Jaltest Rugged PC and the A140 Rugged PAD; both are available separately in our webshop.

The correct cable for your vehicle is determined by the diagnostic connector on that vehicle, not by the brand on the superstructure. Check the connector on the vehicle itself before ordering: If it is the 16-pin OBD2 connection, the supplied JDC213.9 is sufficient; if it is a proprietary connector, a brand-specific cable is required: This is included in the cable set 70002005 or can be ordered individually.

Licence and renewal

The software licence runs for twelve months from activation and is then renewed annually with the update licence (29349). As long as the licence is active, you receive all new software versions and maintain access to technical information.

• Renewal: Annually with the update licence (29349), each time for a further twelve months.
• Term: Twelve months from activation.
• Installations: Maximum of five PCs. Jaltest hardware is always required to run the software.
• Registration: Upon activation, after each new software version, and thereafter every six months.
• Purchase additional module: A module purchased later is synchronised with your current licence; you pay pro rata.
• Do not renew: Diagnostics will continue to work on the last installed version, but access to technical information expires. Cojali continues to support an expired licence for one year.

Optional add-ons

In addition to the Multi-Purpose Vehicle module, there are extensions available for separate purchase. They are not required for diagnostics, but extend support, knowledge or tools. Below is what applies to multi-purpose vehicles.

• Jaltest ATS (70809004): One year of access to Cojali's English-language technical helpdesk, in the version for AGV, MHE, Multi-Purpose Vehicle and Marine. Continues automatically; cancellation by written notice up to thirty days before the expiry date.
• Jaltest Central Services: Tasks performed by Cojali specialists on your behalf, per operation, such as reprogramming certain control units.
• Jaltest University: Cojali's training programme, from basic courses to advanced training.
• Jaltest tools: Cojali's individual measuring and testing tools, available for individual purchase.
• Additional modules: If you want to add commercial vehicles, agriculture, earthmoving, internal transport or maritime, each comes with its own software activation and licence; these are synchronised with your current licence.
