The Jaltest Bus module is a leading multi-brand and multi-system diagnostic platform, developed for the complex electronics of buses and coaches. The system supports OE-level diagnostics for all critical vehicle systems, from engine management to comfort functions such as air conditioning, doors, and passenger systems. The platform consists of the robust, wireless Jaltest Link VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) and the comprehensive Jaltest SOFT diagnostic software.
What sets Jaltest apart is the integration of diagnosis, technical information, and repair guidance within a single user-friendly interface. The technician is guided step by step throughout the entire diagnostic process – from analyzing a door system malfunction to performing a calibration of the air suspension – making Jaltest Bus an essential solution for workshops in passenger transport and public transportation.
Diagnostic functions:
The Jaltest Bus-module provides comprehensive, brand-independent OE-level diagnostics for all electronic systems in buses and coaches. This enables technicians to quickly and accurately locate and resolve faults.
- Reading and clearing fault codes: Detects active, inactive, and permanent fault codes in all vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, air conditioning, brakes, doors, and comfort modules. After repair, fault codes can be cleared immediately.
- Live data monitoring: Real-time display of sensor values and system parameters, such as door pressure, kneeling function status, temperature in climate zones, speed, battery voltage and more. The user can create a list of values to monitor, displayed numerically or graphically.
- Actuator testing: Enables direct control of components such as door systems, air conditioning fans, heating valves, air suspension valves and lighting modules, to check the correct operation of subsystems.

System and ECU information: Provides access to all important identification data of control modules, including part number, software version, serial number, and installation data.
Maintenance, service & calibration functions:
The Jaltest Bus module offers an exceptionally broad and in-depth package of maintenance, service, and calibration procedures essential for the professional maintenance of buses and coaches. These functions approach or exceed the level of original dealer diagnostic systems and enable technicians to perform complex repairs independently and correctly.
Engine and exhaust gas aftertreatment:
- DPF service: Full support for the diesel particulate filter (DPF), including forced regeneration (static or dynamic), reset of soot and ash values, and checking back pressure sensors.
- AdBlue (SCR) system service: Maintenance and diagnosis of the SCR system, including system reset, leak test, checking pump pressure, and individual control of pump, heating, and injector.
- Injector coding: Writes IMA, C2i, or C3i codes of injectors into the ECU for accurate fuel injection and combustion.
- Engine system checks: Guided system tests such as cylinder deactivation, compression test, and turbo control (VGT).
- EGR learning: Calibration of the exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR) after replacement or cleaning.
- Oil service reset: Resetting the maintenance indicator on the dashboard after service.

- Repair guides per fault code: For each detected fault code, Jaltest offers a step-by-step repair manual, including wiring inspection, line checks, component tests and targeted solutions per make and model.
- Symptom-based diagnosis: In the absence of fault codes, the diagnostic process can be started based on complaints such as “kneeling function not working”, “door does not close” or “engine does not start”. The software guides the technician through a guided test procedure with logical sequence.
- Technical bulletins & procedures: Direct access to technical bulletins issued by Jaltest, focused on common faults, recurring complaints, and brand-specific repair recommendations.
- Maintenance data: Automatically generated, manufacturer-specific maintenance schedules based on kilometers or operating hours. The software specifies for each vehicle type which tasks need to be performed and when.
- Service procedures: Clear and fully developed work instructions for performing regular and periodic maintenance tasks, including required parts, torque settings, quantities, and specifications.
