The Topdon ArtiDiag800 BT 2 is a wireless vehicle diagnostic tool designed to perform a full system diagnosis on more than 100 vehicle brands. This device is equipped with a Bluetooth VCI module for wireless communication and supports protocols such as CAN-FD. The diagnostic tool provides access to 28 service and maintenance functions and comes with a license for 2 years of free software updates.
Operation is via a 6-inch touchscreen and the Android 11.0 operating system. Features such as AutoVIN for automatic vehicle identification and generating diagnostic reports are integrated. Functionality can optionally be expanded with a license for FCA Secure Gateway (SGW) access, enabling diagnosis of secured vehicles from Fiat, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, and Dodge.
Diagnostic functions:
The ArtiDiag800 BT 2 performs a full diagnosis on all electronic control units present in the vehicle. The VCI module enables wireless communication with the vehicle.
- Read and clear fault codes: Reads and clears fault codes (DTCs) from all available systems, such as engine, transmission, ABS, and airbags.
- Retrieve ECU information: Shows detailed information from the control unit, including type, version numbers, and other specifications.
- Live data: Displays real-time data from sensors and components, both in text format and graphically. This allows monitoring of parameters such as engine speed, coolant temperature, and battery voltage.
Service and maintenance functions:
This diagnostic tool supports 28 service and maintenance functions. The availability of specific functions may vary by vehicle make, model, and year.
Engine and drivetrain:
- Oil service reset: Resets the service interval indicator after an oil change.
- Injector coding: Registers new injector codes in the control unit after replacement.
- Throttle body learning: Resets the throttle actuator to default settings.
- Crankshaft sensor learning: Learns the tolerances of the crankshaft position sensor for accurate engine control.
- Initialize transmission: Adjusts the shift points of the automatic transmission for smooth shifting behavior.
- Learn EGR valve: Resets the values of the exhaust gas recirculation valve after cleaning or replacement.
- Deactivate/activate start/stop system: Changes the settings of the automatic start-stop system.
- Bleed cooling system: Activates the water pump to remove air from the cooling system.
Exhaust systems:
- Diesel particulate filter regeneration (DPF): Forces regeneration of the diesel particulate filter to remove blockages.
- Reset AdBlue system: Resets the AdBlue system after refilling the fluid.
- Reset NOx sensor: Resets the learned values of the NOx sensor after replacement.
- Reset air-fuel ratio: Adjusts the mixture ratio of air and fuel.
Brakes and chassis:
- Initialize electronic parking brake (EPB): Performs maintenance on the electronic brake system, such as replacing brake pads.
- Bleed ABS system: Removes air from the brake system after repairs to the anti-lock braking system.
- Calibrate air suspension: Resets or calibrates the level sensors of the air suspension.
Steering and tires:
- Initialize steering angle sensor (SAS): Calibrates the sensor that measures the steering wheel position.
- Reset tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS): Resets the TPMS after changing or inflating tires.
Body and electronics:
- Register battery management system (BMS): Registers a new battery in the vehicle system.
- Initialize adaptive headlight system (AFS): Resets the system for swiveling headlights.
- Initialize sunroof: Reset the basic settings and functions of the sunroof or panoramic roof.
- Calibrate windows: Calibrates the electric window motors.
- Calibrate seats: Initializes the memory functions of electrically adjustable seats.
Safety systems:
- Reset airbag module: Resets the airbag data after a collision or component replacement.
- Program immobilizer (IMMO): Programs new keys or deactivates lost keys.
Other functions:
- Enable/disable transport mode: Activates or deactivates the mode that limits power consumption during transport.
- Adjust odometer (ODO): Calibrates the value of the odometer after replacing the instrument panel.
- Change language settings: Changes the language of the instrument panel or infotainment system.
Special functions and capabilities:
This reader device has various functions that support the diagnostic process.
- AutoVIN: Automatically identifies the vehicle based on the chassis number for a quick start of the diagnosis.
- CAN-FD protocol support: Compatible with the CAN-FD protocol, used in newer vehicles from, among others, General Motors.
- Diagnostic reporting: Generates a detailed report of the performed diagnosis, which can be saved or shared.
- Wireless diagnosis: The included VCI module establishes a stable Bluetooth connection with the vehicle, allowing remote diagnosis from the dashboard.
- Vehicle History: Stores previous diagnostic reports so that the maintenance history per vehicle can be consulted.
Optional expansion modules:
The functionality of this reader device can be expanded with the optional software licenses listed below. These expansions are specific to Topdon and may require an active internet connection and a valid subscription.
