Applications and functionality

The Marine Master is intended for shipyards and marine mechanics who service many different brands. Below is what the device can do.

Diagnostic functions

• ECU information: Software and hardware numbers of the control unit.
• Fault codes: Read and clear, with description.
• Live data: As text, graph or gauge.
• Freeze frames: Values at the moment of the fault.
• Actuation tests: Activating components to test them.
• Settings and coding: Adjusting after replacing components.
• Operating hours: Reading the engine's running hours.
• Helm setup: Setting the helm position.
• Auto Scan: Scanning all control units present.
• Data logging: Recording live data and reviewing it.

Software and app

• Wiring diagrams: Interactive, with component descriptions.
• Diagnostic connector: Finding the location via the OBDSTAR app.
• Blink codes: Looking up the meaning via the app.
• Technical bulletins: Via the OBDSTAR app.
• Screen recording: Record for your report.
• Screen mirroring: Wirelessly showing the screen on a monitor.
• Remote assistance: One-button help from OBDSTAR technicians.
• OTA update: One-button update via Wi-Fi.

How to use it

1. Register: Register the device and update it via Wi-Fi.
2. Connect: Connect the M001B and the correct brand adapter.
3. Select brand: Select brand and engine, or start Auto Scan.
4. Read out: Read out fault codes, freeze frames and live data.
5. Restore: Use tests and service functions and clear the codes.

Service and maintenance functions

The Marine Master has the following service and maintenance functions. Which function works varies by brand, engine and year of manufacture.

Engine

• ECU reset: Resetting the control unit to its basic values.
• Oil service reset: Resetting the oil indicator after an oil change.
• Oil pressure reset: Resetting the oil pressure warning and counter.
• Tachometer: Setting the rev counter display.
• Fuel settings: Adjust fuel parameters within limits.
• Throttle position sensor reset: Reset the TPS learned values.
• Throttle idle: Adjust the zero position of the throttle valve.

Trim and drive

• Trim reset: Reset the trim and tilt positions.
• Tilt limit: Set the tilt limit of the drive.

Steering and navigation

• Steering angle sensor: Calibrate the zero position after replacement.
• Compass: Calibrate the electronic compass.

General

• Service mode: Enable service mode for maintenance.
• Winterisation: Carry out the procedure for long periods of inactivity.
• Maintenance indicators: Reset service lights, also via the app.

Special functions and capabilities

In addition to diagnostics and service:

• BCM simulator: Simulate BCM signals for diagnostics.
• Instance Setting: Configure engines in a multi-engine setup.
• Maintenance Setting: Set maintenance parameters.
• Remote control reset: Reset and pair the electronic remote control.
• System calibration: Calibration procedures on engine systems.
• Torque setting: Adjust torque parameters within limits.

What matters is the combination of brand, engine and year of manufacture, not the brand alone. Coverage differs per function; check in advance whether your engine and the function you need are included.

Licence information

When purchased via AsTools, you receive 2 years of software updates.

• On purchase: Register the device and update it via Wi-Fi.
• Two years of updates: New engines, functions and corrections, via Wi-Fi.
• Purchase support: We help you get started remotely via TeamViewer.
• Renewal: With the OBDSTAR D800 / Marine Master (A&B&C&D) update licence, sold separately in our webshop.
