The OBDSTAR KeyMaster G3 update licence for configuration A&B&D extends your entitlement to software updates by one year. The KeyMaster G3 is OBDSTAR's key and immobiliser programmer, where the activated modules determine what the device may do. This extension applies to the combination Immobiliser and keys (A), ODO Meter (B) and Crash Reset (D).

With the G3, each module has its own licence, separate from the other modules. This extension tracks exactly the modules enabled for this configuration. The licence is tied to the serial number of your device; we activate it within one working day. If the term expires, the device will keep working on the last installed version, but new software will no longer be added.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕This extension applies only to configuration A&B&D; other combinations each have their own licence and are not interchangeable.
✕ECU Flasher (C) is not included in this extension and is not added to it.
✕An extension provides software and no hardware; you will still need to buy adapters and kits such as the BENZ FBS3 Kit separately.
✕The licence is tied to one serial number and therefore to one device; a second device in the same workshop requires its own extension.

Applications and functionality

An active licence keeps the activated modules of your KeyMaster G3 up to date. For configuration A&B&D, these are Immobiliser and keys, ODO Meter and Crash Reset.

What an extension gives you

  • Immobiliser and keys (A): New makes, models and key protocols for programming, making and renewing keys.
  • ODO Meter (B): Mileage correction for cars and motorcycles, plus oil and service reset, for newer instrument clusters.
  • Crash Reset (D): Airbag reset, battery monitoring (MVBM) reset and steering angle sensor learning on newer modules.

What happens without an extension

  • New software: No new versions will be added; coverage remains as it currently stands.
  • Online services: OBDSTAR's online functions and remote assistance may be discontinued or limited.
  • Existing work: You can continue to use your key work and the functions already in your version.

How does it work in practice?

From order to updated device there are four steps. Allow for some download time if you have not updated for a year.

  1. Serial number: We need the serial number of your KeyMaster G3 to link the licence; it is shown on the device label and in the settings menu.
  2. Registration with the manufacturer: We register your serial number for the new period, usually within one working day.
  3. Connect the device: Switch on the device and connect it to a stable Wi-Fi network.
  4. Update the software: Update the software with one click directly from the device.
