The FCA 12+8-pin to 16-pin OBD2 Adapter Cable is designed for vehicles from the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) group equipped with a Security Gateway Module (SGW). This cable serves as a physical bypass of the SGW module, allowing a standard 16-pin OBD2 diagnostic tool to be connected for advanced diagnostic purposes. The Adapter connects the 12-pin and 8-pin connectors of the SGW to a female 16-pin OBD2 port.
By using this cable, the communication block of the SGW is bypassed. This enables diagnostic equipment to gain full access to all vehicle modules. As a result, advanced functions can be performed, such as reading and clearing all fault codes, performing service functions, and making adjustments that are normally restricted by the SGW.
Application and functionality:
This Adapter Cable is developed to give diagnostic equipment direct access to the internal systems of FCA vehicles by bypassing the SGW module.
