The MultiECUScan Adapter Cable set is a 6-piece collection of adapters designed to establish a connection between a standard OBD2 interface and specific control units (ECUs) in vehicles. This set is especially developed for use with diagnostic software such as MultiECUScan and AlfaOBD. Each cable in the set has a unique color and internal wiring to access systems not reachable via the standard OBD2 pins.
The functionality of this set is based on rerouting the diagnostic pins. A standard interface can thus communicate with modules such as the airbag, ABS, power steering, and the CAN network. The adapters make a physical connection between the 16-pin connector of the diagnostic interface and the 16-pin OBD2 port of the vehicle, adjusting the pin configuration to the requirements of the ECU to be accessed. This enables in-depth diagnostics, reading fault codes, and performing service functions.
Application and functionality:
This set of six colored Adapter Cables is designed to access various electronic control units (ECUs) in compatible vehicles. Each color corresponds to a specific pin configuration for a particular module.
- Green cable (Adapter 1): For access to the ABS and power steering.
- Red cable (Adapter 2): For reading the airbag system (SRS).
- Yellow cable (Adapter 3): Connects to the low-speed CAN network for systems like the body computer, door modules, and the dashboard.
- Purple cable (Adapter 4): For reading systems such as the electric hood and other specific modules.
- Blue cable (Adapter 5): Provides access to advanced multimedia and control modules on newer vehicles.
- Gray cable (Adapter 6): Used for basic modules and systems in recent vehicles, such as certain Jeep and Chrysler models.
