Applications and functionality

Jaltest CV is the Jaltest diagnostic solution for trucks, buses, trailers and light commercial vehicles. This renewal keeps that module active and includes the additions for the coming year. What you can do with it subsequently depends on the vehicle and the connection interface you use.

What you can do with it

• Systems and fault codes: The software recognises the control units present and reads out the fault codes, with their descriptions.
• Live readings: Read parameters whilst the vehicle is running, from engine speed and pressure to temperature.
• Actuation: Direct actuation of components to verify they respond.
• Calibrations and settings: The calibrations and parameter settings that Jaltest offers per system.
• Symptom-based fault finding: Guided search paths that start from the complaint rather than the fault code.
• Technical information: Releases, procedures and manual diagnostics for the systems you access.
• Expert mode: Select a control unit manually when automatic selection is not suitable.

The renewal does not change coverage: Jaltest CV continues to work on trucks, buses, trailers and light commercial vehicles. What does expand is the range of vehicles and systems that Jaltest adds during the coming year.

CV or Modular?

The CV licence gives you access to the entire commercial vehicle segment in one package. If you only work on a single vehicle type, the Modular option is more focused: Modular Truck (293100), Bus (293300), Trailer (293500) and LCV (293600) are purchased separately.

Four editions

Jaltest CV is available in four versions with identical coverage. The difference lies in what you purchase – a one-time purchase, your first year included, a renewal or an upgrade to software you already own – not in what you can do with it.

What you need

To diagnose with Jaltest CV, you need more than this product. The complete set-up is shown below.

• Jaltest Link: The diagnostic interface. Required, even to start the software on a PC.
• The module itself (29051): This product. It is the renewal and works on a module you already have.
• Update licence (29051): This product. Twelve months' renewal, from the second year onwards.
• Adapter cables (optional): Cable set truck and bus (29362), Cable set trailer (70002024) and Cable set refrigeration units (29989). If you don't have them, you can connect using the multipin set included in your Jaltest carry case.

How does it work in practice?

From order to renewed licence takes four steps. You do not need to reinstall anything; the serial number is all you need to locate yourself.

1. Provide serial number: When placing your order, state the serial number of the Jaltest Link on which the existing licence is registered.
2. We renew: We apply the renewal to that serial number, typically within one working day of your order.
3. Email confirmation: We'll contact you once the new expiry date is set on your serial number.
4. Update software: Launch Jaltest Diagnostics and retrieve the new version; Jaltest CV will remain in your start menu as usual.
