Applications and functionality

Jaltest CV is the Jaltest diagnostic software for trucks, buses, trailers and light commercial vehicles. This upgrade opens that segment alongside the segments you already use. What you do with it next depends on the vehicle and the connection you use.

What you can do with it

• Systems and fault codes: The software recognises the control units present and reads out the fault codes, with their descriptions.
• Live readings: Read parameters whilst the vehicle is running, from engine speed and pressure to temperature.
• Actuation: Direct actuation of components to verify they respond.
• Calibrations and settings: The calibrations and parameter settings that Jaltest offers per system.
• Symptom-based fault finding: Guided search paths that start from the complaint rather than the fault code.
• Technical information: Releases, procedures and manual diagnostics for the systems you access.
• Expert mode: Select a control unit manually when automatic selection is not suitable.

Panel vans and pick-ups up to 3.5 tonnes, including those from the makes listed below.

CV or Modular?

With CV you purchase the entire commercial vehicle segment under a single licence. If you work exclusively with one vehicle type, Modular offers a more focused solution: Modular Truck (293100), Bus (293300), Trailer (293500) and Light Commercial Vehicle (293600) are purchased individually.

Four editions

Jaltest CV is available in four versions with identical coverage. The difference lies in what you purchase – a one-time purchase, your first year included, a renewal or an upgrade to software you already own – not in what you can do with it.

What you need

To diagnose with Jaltest CV, you need more than this product. The complete set-up is shown below.

• Jaltest Link: The diagnostic interface. Required, even to start the software on a PC.
• The module itself (71501001): This product. It adds Jaltest CV to Jaltest software you already use for another segment.
• Update licence (29051): Twelve months' renewal, from the second year onwards.
• Adapter cable sets (optional): Truck and bus cable set (29362), Trailer cable set (70002024) and Refrigeration unit cable set (29989). If you do not have them, you can connect using the multipin set supplied with your Jaltest kit.

What's included

• 1x Jaltest (71501001) | CV | Software upgrade, a one-time expansion of your Jaltest software, delivered digitally to your Jaltest Link serial number

How does it work in practice?

From order to extended software takes four steps. Your installation remains in place; the serial number is the only thing you need to find yourself.

1. Provide the serial number: When ordering, specify the serial number of the Jaltest Link where your current Jaltest software is installed.
2. We perform the upgrade: We apply the upgrade to that serial number, typically within one working day of your order.
3. Email confirmation: You will hear from us as soon as Jaltest CV is added to your software package.
4. Update software: Start Jaltest Diagnostics and retrieve the expansion; Jaltest CV appears alongside your existing segments in the start menu.
