Applications and functionality

Jaltest CV is the Jaltest diagnostic tool for trucks, buses, trailers and light commercial vehicles. This activation unlocks that module. What you can do with it afterwards depends on the vehicle and the interface you use.

What you can do with it

• Systems and fault codes: The software recognises the control units present and reads out the fault codes, with their descriptions.
• Live readings: Read parameters whilst the vehicle is running, from engine speed and pressure to temperature.
• Actuation: Direct actuation of components to verify they respond.
• Calibrations and settings: The calibrations and parameter settings that Jaltest offers per system.
• Symptom-based fault finding: Guided search paths that start from the complaint rather than the fault code.
• Technical information: Releases, procedures and manual diagnostics for the systems you access.
• Expert mode: Select a control unit manually when automatic selection is not suitable.

For trailers, you select by system manufacturer rather than bodywork brand. Jaltest covers ten.

Light commercial vehicles

Panel vans and pick-ups up to 3.5 tonnes, including those from the makes listed below.

CV or Modular?

With CV, you purchase comprehensive coverage across the entire commercial vehicle segment in a single licence. If you work exclusively with one vehicle type, the Modular option offers a more focused approach: Modular Truck (293100), Bus (293300), Trailer (293500) and LCV (293600) are purchased individually.

Four editions

Jaltest CV is available in four versions with identical coverage. The difference lies in what you purchase – a one-time purchase, your first year included, a renewal or an upgrade to software you already own – not in what you can do with it.

What you need

To diagnose with Jaltest CV, you need more than this product. The complete set-up is shown below.

• Jaltest Link: The diagnostic interface. Required, even to start the software on a PC.
• The module itself (29303): This product. You purchase the module once; the module remains yours.
• Update licence (29051): Twelve months' renewal, from the second year onwards.
• Adaptor cables (optional): Cable set for truck and bus (29362), Cable set for trailer (70002024) and Cable set for refrigeration units (29989). If you do not have these, you can connect using the multi-pin set included in your Jaltest diagnostic case.

How does it work in practice?

From order to working module there are four steps. The serial number of your Jaltest Link is all you need to find yourself.

1. Provide the serial number: Include the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the notes field when you place your order; this is required.
2. We activate: We bind the module to that serial number, typically within one working day of your order.
3. Confirmation by email: You will hear from us as soon as the module is on your serial number.
4. Update software: Start Jaltest Diagnostics and retrieve the module; Jaltest CV will then appear in the start menu.
