The Topdon TopScan Master is a compact and wireless reader device that transforms a smartphone into a full-fledged diagnostic system. This VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) supports more than 90 vehicle brands and connects via Bluetooth. The TopScan Master is equipped with full OBD2 functions, system diagnosis for all available modules, and bidirectional control. A 1-year free update license is included with the purchase.
The device supports advanced protocols such as CAN-FD and DoIP, making it compatible with the latest vehicle models. Additional features include more than 25 service and maintenance functions, Secure Gateway Access for secure vehicle systems, and a vehicle performance test. The integrated TopFix AI feature provides access to repair information and manuals directly within the application.
Diagnostic functions:
The Topdon TopScan Master performs a full system diagnosis on all electronic control units present in the vehicle, such as the engine, transmission, ABS, airbags, and body modules.
- Read and clear fault codes: Reads and clears fault codes (DTCs) from all available vehicle systems.
- Live data: Displays real-time data from sensors and components in various views, such as numeric and graphical. This allows data streams to be analyzed to identify the cause of problems.
- Actuator testing (Bidirectional control): Directly controls components such as relays, injectors, fans, and valves to verify functionality without physical disassembly.
- I/M Readiness: Checks the status of emission-related systems to determine if the vehicle is ready for an emissions test.
Service and maintenance functions:
The device supports more than 25 service and maintenance functions. The availability of specific functions may vary by vehicle make, model, and year.
Engine and drivetrain:
- Maintenance interval reset: Resets the oil change service notification and the maintenance interval.
- Throttle body learning: Resets the baseline values of the electronic throttle body after cleaning or replacement.
- Injector coding: Programs the unique codes of new injectors into the engine control unit (ECU) for precise fuel injection.
- Cylinder balance testing: Analyzes the contribution of each cylinder to engine performance to detect irregularities.
- Learn transmission adaptation values: Teaches the transmission the shift patterns again for smoother performance after a repair.
- Reset air-fuel ratio (A/F): Resets the parameters for the air-fuel ratio to factory settings.
- Learn variable turbo geometry (VGT): Calibrates the actuator of the variable turbo for correct operation.
- Bleed cooling system: Automates the procedure for removing air bubbles from the cooling system.
Brakes:
- Initialize electronic parking brake (EPB): Resets the electronic parking brake after replacing brake pads or calipers.
- Bleed ABS brake system: Performs a procedure to remove air from the anti-lock braking system after repairs.
Exhaust systems:
- Diesel particulate filter regeneration (DPF): Forces the regeneration of the DPF to burn accumulated soot.
- Adjust EGR valve: Performs the basic settings of the exhaust gas recirculation valve after cleaning or replacement.
- Reset NOx sensor: Resets the stored values of the nitrogen oxide sensor after replacement or repair.
- Reset AdBlue system: Resets the AdBlue level and warning indicators after refilling.
Steering and suspension:
- Calibrate steering angle sensor (SAS): Calibrates the steering angle sensor after alignment or repairs to the steering system.
- Calibrate air suspension: Calibrates the ride height of the air suspension system.
Body and electronics:
- Calibrate adaptive headlamp system (AFS): Calibrates the adaptive headlamps for correct operation.
- Initialize sunroof: Performs the basic settings for the end positions and operation of the sunroof.
- Initialize electric windows: Performs the basic settings for the end positions of the electric windows.
- Seat calibration: Calibrates electronically adjustable seats or the weight recognition sensor.
- Adjust odometer (ODO): Calibrates or corrects the odometer reading.
- Change language settings: Changes the display language of the instrument panel or infotainment system.
Battery and safety systems:
- Reset Battery management system (BMS): Registers a new Battery in the vehicle system after replacement.
- Reset airbag system: Resets the airbag module and the warning light after a repair.
- Reset tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS): Reprograms sensors and resets the warning light after a tire change.
