The Topdon ArtiDiag500 is a vehicle diagnostic scanner designed for analyzing 4 essential systems: engine (PCM), transmission (TCM), anti-lock braking system (ABS), and airbag (SRS). The device supports more than 67 vehicle brands and is equipped with a 5-inch touchscreen, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB storage, and runs on Android 7.0. The license includes lifetime software updates at no extra cost.
This model features 6 service and maintenance functions, including oil service reset and steering angle sensor calibration. The AutoVIN technology provides automatic vehicle identification and the device supports the CAN-FD protocol. Diagnostic reports can be generated and shared directly on the device. Functionality can optionally be expanded with licenses for Secure Gateway (SGW) access.
Diagnostic functions:
The ArtiDiag500 performs diagnostics on the four main electronic systems of a vehicle: engine, transmission, ABS, and SRS. The functions include reading fault codes, viewing live data, and identifying the vehicle.
- Read and clear fault codes: Reads and clears fault codes (DTC's) from the engine, transmission, ABS, and SRS modules.
- Live data functions: Displays real-time data from vehicle sensors in graphical form, allowing parameters such as engine speed, coolant temperature, and sensor voltages to be analyzed directly.
- Automatic vehicle identification (AutoVIN): Automatically identifies the brand, model, and year of the vehicle by reading the chassis number (VIN).
Service and maintenance functions:
This device supports 6 service and maintenance functions. The availability of functions may vary by vehicle brand, model, and year.
Engine and drivetrain:
- Oil service reset: Resets the oil change interval and the associated service message on the dashboard after maintenance.
- Throttle body learning: Initializes the throttle actuators to standard values, necessary after replacement or cleaning of the throttle body.
Brakes:
- Electronic parking brake reset (EPB): Supports maintenance of electronic brake systems, including opening and closing calipers for replacing brake pads or discs.
Steering and Safety Systems:
- Steering angle sensor calibration (SAS): Calibrates the steering angle sensor after replacement or alignment to ensure correct operation of systems such as ESP.
- Tire pressure monitoring system reset (TPMS): Resets the warning light of the tire pressure monitoring system after replacing a tire or sensor.
Bodywork and electronics:
- Battery management system reset (BMS): Registers a new Battery in the vehicle system after replacement, so the charging strategy is correctly adjusted.
Special functions and capabilities:
The ArtiDiag500 offers various special functions that increase diagnostic efficiency, such as protocol support and reporting.
- CAN-FD protocol support: Compatible with the CAN-FD protocol, enabling communication with more modern vehicles.
- Generate diagnostic report: Creates a complete diagnostic report of the scanned systems. This report can be saved and shared.

- FCA Secure Gateway (SGW) license: Grants authorized access to the secure diagnostic systems of vehicles within the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group, including brands such as Fiat, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Alfa Romeo.
- Renault Secure Gateway (SGW) license: Provides authorized access for performing diagnostics and special functions on recent Renault and Dacia vehicles equipped with a Secure Gateway.
