The OBDSTAR M047 is an adapter cable that converts the brand-specific 5+5-pin OBD diagnostic connector of Vespa and Moto Guzzi motorcycles to a standard 16-pin OBD2 connection (J1962). The cable is designed for use with OBDSTAR readers or programmers and enables connection of vehicle-specific diagnostic ports to OBDSTAR diagnostic systems expecting an OBD2 interface. The cable features two separate connectors on one end: a 5-pin Vespa plug and a 5-pin Moto Guzzi plug, which merge via a split into a single common OBD2 connector.
The adapter cable adapts the proprietary pinout scheme of Vespa and Moto Guzzi to the standard J1962 port layout expected by OBDSTAR equipment. Through the OBD2 connector, the relevant signal lines—including the K-line for serial communication—are passed to the connected diagnostic system. Thanks to the split cable design with two separate vehicle connectors, the technician can select the correct plug depending on the vehicle brand being diagnosed without changing cables. The cable performs no active signal conversion; the pin mapping is passively hardware-implemented in the wiring.
