This adapter cable connects the 3-pin diagnostic connector of older Honda passenger cars to a diagnostic tool with a 16-pin OBD2 plug. The connector is usually located on the passenger side, under the dashboard compartment or near the centre console.
The 3-pin connector supplies power and earth and carries the K-line for diagnostics. This allows you to read, among other things, the engine management. Next to the 3-pin connector there is often a separate 2-pin plug. That is for flash codes and is not part of this cable. The cable physically converts the connector; the diagnostic tool itself must support the Honda protocol of this generation.
