The OBDSTAR MS50 STD is a diagnostic reader for motorcycles, mopeds, snowmobiles, ATVs and UTVs, designed as a portable tablet with a 5.0-inch capacitive touchscreen at 800x480 pixels running Android 5.1.1. Inside is a RK3128 quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor with a 2600 mAh lithium-polymer battery, expandable via micro SD card up to 32 GB. Includes a 1 year licence.
The device reads fault codes, displays live datastreams as text, waveform or gauge view, performs actuator tests and supports module coding and programming. Where it differs from the MS50 Basic is coverage: the STD adds fifteen brands, including KTM, Husqvarna, Hyosung, HM, Victory and eight Chinese marques led by CFMoto, and also includes separate ODO Meter and Tuning apps. What you can actually do on a specific motorcycle depends on the installed software and the diagnostic adapter that belongs to that brand's connector.

Engine and drivetrain

- Throttle body learning: Teach the base position of the electronic throttle body after cleaning or replacement.
- Idle speed learning: Calibrate idle speed after inlet system maintenance.
- CO adjustment: Adjust CO percentage for correct fuel mixture ratio and emissions.
- Air-fuel ratio reset: Reset the adaptive values in engine management.
- Oxygen sensor adaptation reset: Clear learned correction values following sensor replacement.
- Engine adaptation reset: Clear general learned values after component repair or replacement.
Transmission, braking and other systems
- Transmission adaptation reset: Return transmission control module learned shift values to default.
- ABS bleeding: Activate the ABS pump to bleed the braking system after service work.
- Tyre pressure monitoring system reset: Reset the TPMS where fitted to the motorcycle.
- Odometer correction: Adjust stored mileage on supported models.
- EOL mode: Perform end-of-line procedures on supported control modules.
- Control module memory clear: Remove stored data from a control module for a clean baseline.

The combination of make, model and year of manufacture determines compatibility, not the make alone. OBDSTAR divides MS50 STD coverage across four separate lists. A brand that appears only in the odometer list cannot be fully read. For some brands, a separate diagnostic adapter is also required; see the lists below.
