BMW K+DCAN OBD2 - USB Switch Interface Cable White

The BMW K+DCAN OBD2 - USB Switch Interface Cable (white) is an advanced adapter designed for diagnosis, coding, and programming of BMW and Mini vehicles. Thanks to the integrated switch, this cable enables the use of both K-Line and DCAN protocols. It is suitable for models from approximately 1998 through 2013.

This cable forms the connection between the vehicle's OBD2 port and a Windows laptop. This allows users to access the vehicle's electronic systems with specialized software. The solution is popular among both professional mechanics and do-it-yourselfers.

Supported software programs:

• INPA: BMW's basic diagnostic program for fault codes, live data, and system tests. Widely applicable and stable.
• EDIABAS: Background communication system required for INPA, NCS Expert, and WinKFP.
• NCS Expert: Coding tool for BMW modules. Allows configuration of options such as daytime running lights, seatbelt reminders, or comfort closing.
• WinKFP: For updating or reflashing ECUs with original factory data.
• Tool32: Specialist tool for direct commands to ECUs such as resetting or test commands (for advanced users only).
• SSS Progman: Visual software for coding older BMWs. Commonly used until around 2007.
• ISTA-D (Rheingold): Modern BMW diagnostic tool with extensive features: fault codes, repair instructions, maintenance planning.
• DIS (GT1): Old system for older models with support for fault diagnosis and component tests.

Supported operating systems:

The interface is compatible with the following operating systems. For optimal stability, the use of older Windows versions is recommended, depending on the software used:

• Windows XP: Maximum compatibility with INPA, NCS Expert, and other classic BMW tools.
• Windows 7 (32-bit recommended): Most stable modern option for use with FTDI-based interfaces.
• Windows 8 / 10 / 11: Partially supported, but requires custom drivers or compatibility settings.

Note: Not all software works flawlessly on 64-bit systems or in combination with modern security settings. Use of a virtual machine or dual boot installation may be necessary with new Windows versions.
