The BMW ENET OBD2 - RJ45 interface cable is designed for direct broadband communication between the vehicle and an external diagnostic system or computer. This interface cable uses a standard 16-pin OBD2 connector on the vehicle side and an RJ45 network plug for connection to an external system. Technically, the interface cable acts as a physical bridge for Ethernet communication via the diagnostic port, which is required for vehicles with a DoIP architecture (Diagnostics over Internet Protocol). Because data transfer occurs via the ENET protocol, significantly higher bandwidths are achieved compared to traditional CAN bus networks.   • BimmerCode / BimmerLink: For mobile coding and diagnostics (requires an external RJ45-to-smartphone Adapter in this case).

Operating systems:

  • Windows: Fully supported (Windows 10 / Windows 11 required for ISTA and E-Sys).
