The Jaltest SST (model 50004002) is the Speed Sensor Tester: A handheld diagnostic tool for testing active and passive speed sensors. According to Cojali, it's designed to verify proper sensor operation and simulate both sensor types, allowing you to identify faults in the control module they're connected to.
What sets it apart is the dual mode functionality. In read mode, you measure the sensor output directly; in simulation mode, the SST generates its own sensor signal, so you can verify how the wiring, connectors, and control unit respond. The device operates independently on a 9-volt battery: No Jaltest Link, software, or license required.

What the SST can do
- Test active sensors: Hall-effect versions.
- Test passive sensors: Inductive versions.
- Detect open circuits and short circuits: A red LED indicates the fault.
- Identify sensor type: A green LED shows whether it's an active or passive sensor.
- Simulate a sensor signal: Four green LEDs rotate clockwise when a signal is detected or generated.
How to connect it
- Three female banana connectors: Red for power, blue for signal, and black for ground.
- Using the included cable set: It contains adapters for various sensor connectors.
