The Jaltest OBD401 is a conversion Adapter that establishes a connection between the specific Iveco 38-pin OBD1 diagnostic connector and a standard 16-pin OBD2 interface. This Adapter is developed for diagnosing older models of Iveco Delivery vans, especially the Iveco Daily, which are not equipped with the standardized OBD2 port. The construction ensures correct signal transmission between the vehicle and the reading device.
This Adapter enables communication with modern diagnostic equipment, such as the Jaltest Link interface, with the various electronic control units (ECUs) of the vehicle. This allows functions such as reading and clearing fault codes, viewing live data, performing component activation, and configuring parameters on systems accessible via the 38-pin connector, including engine management and ABS.
Application and functionality:
This Adapter cable is designed to establish a stable and reliable communication connection between older Iveco vehicles and modern diagnostic equipment.
- Diagnostic connection: Enables communication between a vehicle with a 38-pin Iveco connector and a 16-pin OBD2 diagnostic device.
- Protocol conversion: Translates the specific pin assignment of the Iveco connection to the standardized OBD2 layout, so that the signals are correctly transmitted to the reading device.
- System access: Provides access to various control units in the vehicle, such as the engine management (EDC), the anti-lock braking system (ABS), and other control modules.
Compatible vehicles and applications:
The OBD401 adapter cable is specifically developed for use on older Iveco delivery vans equipped with the round 38-pin diagnostic port. This mainly concerns models produced before the full transition to the OBD2 standard.
Iveco:
- Daily II: (1990-2000)
- Daily III (S2000): (1999-2006)
- Daily IV: (2006-2011, check the physical connection)
Important: Before purchasing the product, always check your vehicle's connection. This may vary by model and year of manufacture.
