The Jaltest JDC560A9 is the diagnostic cable for Hitachi with Isuzu engines, 6-pin. It connects the 6-pin engine plug in the engine wiring harness to a standard 16-pin OBD2 connector. On the machine side it has a fully black, rectangular connector housing with locking lugs and a deep sealing edge; on the interface side it has a black OBD2 connector with the OBD symbol.

The cable measures 30 cm and is designed for the Jaltest Link V9. Halfway along, a thinner lead branches off to a DC power connector. Once connected, the Jaltest software accesses the 4HK1 and 4JJ1 engine control in K-Line and CAN versions, the ECM of the heavier engines, and the AdBlue/DEF control. The cable is covered by Jaltest OHW.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕Only for the fully black 6-pin housing; a grey housing with green seal requires the 8-pin JDC561A9.

✕On newer Zaxis generations, engine diagnostics run via CAN instead of K-Line, and the AdBlue/DEF control is added.

✕The machine computer MC, the gateway ICF and the display MON cannot be reached via this plug; the JDC535A is intended for that, at the diagnostic connection in the cab.

✕The separate power cable with right-angled plug shown next to the DC tap in the product photo does not belong to this item.

The cable is intended for workshops that read the Isuzu engine control of Hitachi machines directly at the engine. Which version is present depends on the engine and the Zaxis generation.

How to use it

Find the plug: Locate the black 6-pin housing in the engine wiring harness.
Connect: Insert the JDC560A9 into the engine plug.
Link pairing: Connect the OBD2 side to the Jaltest Link V9.
Ignition on: Switch the ignition on.
Reading out: Select Hitachi and the Isuzu engine in Jaltest OHW.

Compatible machines and engines

The plug determines compatibility, not the model. This cable is for the 6-pin engine plug of the Isuzu diesel engines that Hitachi fits in its excavators and wheel loaders. Which of the two versions is in the engine wiring harness can be seen from the colour of the housing: black is for this cable, grey with green seal for the JDC561A9.

Good to know: The engine plug is located at the engine, in the engine wiring harness, not at the diagnostic connection in the cab. A black housing indicates the 6-pin version, a grey housing with green seal the 8-pin version, and a cream-coloured contact holder in a black cover the machine diagnostics in the cab (the JDC535A). Check which connection is on your machine before ordering.
