The Jaltest JDC568A is the adapter cable for Hatz engines with the manufacturer's proprietary 4-pin diagnostic connector; on the engine side sits that connector, on or next to the engine block, and on the interface side the 16-pin OBD2 of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. The connection belongs to the engine itself, not to the machine in which it is installed.
Through this coupling, the diagnostic equipment reaches the Hatz engine control unit. Hatz manufactures compact industrial diesel engines that are installed as standalone drives; Jaltest coverage focuses on one engine family, the H50 series, with two Bosch control units: The EDC 17 C81 and the EDC 17 CV54. With both, Jaltest reads fault codes, live data and service intervals; actuating components, adjusting parameters and calibration are not included. The cable falls under Jaltest MHE (Material Handling Equipment).

Through this connection, you access the Hatz engine control unit using Jaltest software. Which of the two control units you'll find depends on your engine configuration.
Control units you can access
- EDC 17 C81, Engine Control Module: The Bosch engine management system for the H50 series, with fault codes, live data, ECU information and maintenance.
- EDC 17 CV54, Engine Control Module: The second version of the engine control unit, with the same feature set.
What you can do
- Read fault codes: Access the engine control unit's fault memory, complete with descriptions of detected faults.
- View live data: Monitor real-time sensor values from the control unit, with the ability to set alarm thresholds.
- Check maintenance: Review service intervals and required maintenance tasks, with a customer report.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The engine is what matters, not the machine. This cable works with any Hatz H50 engine equipped with the 4-pin diagnostic connector, whether it's installed in a compact machine, lifting equipment, power generator, or other application. Check which connector is on your engine block in person.
