The Autool AST609 is a pulsating brake fluid bleeder for replacing and bleeding brake fluid in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The device features a metal housing with carrying handle, an analog pressure gauge on the front panel, and a control button with standard mode and pulse mode. Thanks to the supplied set of seven Adapters, the device can be used on a wide range of European, American, and Asian vehicles, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Volvo, Porsche, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep.

The AST609 is placed on the brake fluid reservoir via the matching brass Adapter and powered with 12 V via the supplied battery clamps or power Adapter. In standard mode, the device provides continuous pressure to move fresh brake fluid through the system, while the pulse mode generates alternating pressure pulses that release air bubbles in brake lines, ABS blocks, and clutch circuits. The pressure is read on the pressure gauge, and the device status is visible via the POWER and WORKING indicators with separate START and STOP buttons.

IMPORTANT NOTES

✕ Specific Adapters are required for certain models such as Buick Business, Honda, Toyota, and Nissan; check in advance if the correct Adapter number is available.
✕ The supplied power Adapter and power cord come with an American plug; a plug adapter is necessary for use with a European outlet.
✕ The device does not replace diagnostic equipment for activating ABS pumps during bleeding of vehicles that require this procedure.

Applications and functionalities

The AST609 supports the following workshop operations on the brake system:

  • Brake fluid replacement: Supplies fresh brake fluid under pressure via the reservoir, allowing old fluid to be drained at each bleed nipple.
  • Brake system bleeding: Removes air from brake lines after replacing brake calipers, master cylinders, or brake hoses.
  • Pulse bleeding: Generates pressure pulses that loosen air bubbles in hard-to-reach places such as ABS modulators.
  • Clutch system bleeding: Usable on hydraulic clutch circuits with a compatible Adapter on the clutch fluid reservoir.
  • Pressure monitoring: The built-in pressure gauge shows the current working pressure during bleeding to monitor the brake system.

Good to know: Always compare the Adapter number with the included compatibility table before connecting (Adapter 1 for among others Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, and Volkswagen; Adapter 5 for Honda and BYD; Adapter 6 for Toyota; Adapter 10 for Nissan). Using the wrong Adapter can cause leaks and damage the reservoir.
