The Autel MaxiSys Elite II update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the MaxiSys Elite II by one year. What the device can do is determined by the software and not by the hardware. The Elite II is a 9.7-inch tablet with an octa-core processor, 4 GB of working memory and 128 GB of storage, which works with the MaxiFlash Elite — an interface that complies with J2534-1 and J2534-2 for pass-thru programming.
The licence is linked to the serial number of your MaxiSys Elite II, not to an account or a code. We activate this within one working day on the serial number of your device. An extension keeps the vehicle coverage, the coding and programming files and the more than 38 maintenance functions up to date. Once the term expires, nothing changes to what is already on the device, but new software is no longer added.

Applications and functionality
Three things on the MaxiSys Elite II are tied to the licence. The vehicle coverage determines which vehicles the device recognises, the function files determine what it may do with them, and the online services provide what comes from outside.
What an extension gives you
- New vehicle coverage: Makes, models and model years added since your last update become available within the existing diagnostic functions.
- Coding and programming files: The files behind coding and pass-thru programming are supplemented.
- Maintenance functions: New and corrected service and reset procedures arrive through the same updates.

What happens without an extension
- No additions: New coverage and new procedures no longer reach the device.
- Online functions: Anything that runs via the manufacturer's servers may be limited or no longer available after expiry.
- No loss of functionality: What you do with the device today, you can still do after the licence expires.

How does it work in practice?
It proceeds in four steps. Allow for some download time if you have not updated for a year.
- Serial number: We need the serial number of the MaxiSys Elite II to link the licence; it is in the settings menu under the device details and on the sticker on the back.
- Registration with the manufacturer: We register your serial number for the new period, usually within one working day.
- Preparing the device: Connect the device to the charger and ensure a stable Wi-Fi connection before you start the download.
- Updating the software: Select the available versions in the update menu and start the update.
