The Autel G-BOX3 is an adapter designed for programming keys and reading data from engine ECUs. This module is compatible with the Autel MaxiIM series key programming tablets, such as the IM508 (in combination with the XP400 Pro), IM608, and IM608 II. The G-BOX3 functions as an interface between the tablet and the vehicle, specifically for Mercedes-Benz and BMW. It speeds up processes such as password calculation and enables certain operations to be performed without dismantling components from the vehicle.
This adapter supports both bench service and direct in-vehicle use. For Mercedes-Benz vehicles with DAS3 EIS/EZS, it significantly reduces the time for password calculation in situations where all keys are lost. For BMW, the G-BOX3 supports reading and writing ISN codes from various DME/DDE controllers. Additionally, the adapter can be used for reading and writing data from Bosch MD1/MG1 engine controllers and for synchronizing IMMO data on selected VAG models.
Application and functionality:
The G-BOX3 offers various functionalities for working with immobilizer systems and engine control units:
- Mercedes-Benz password calculation: Speeds up password calculation up to 8 times for EIS types W172, W204, and W207, and up to 4 times for EIS types W209 and W211 in an 'all keys lost' situation.
- No EIS dismantling: Enables key programming for various Mercedes models without removing the electronic ignition switch (EIS).
- BMW ISN reading: Supports reading and writing DME/DDE ISN codes via boot mode or on the test bench for more than 20 types of engine control units, including EDC17 and MEVD17.
- ECU reading and writing: Suitable for reading and writing data from Bosch engine ECUs, including the MD1/MG1 series used in BMW, VAG, and PSA models.
- VAG functionality: Provides support for reading ECM IMMO data and data synchronization for 18 types of engine control units.
- Efficiency: Eliminates the need for repeatedly plugging and unplugging an IR simulator on specific EIS types.
