The OBDSTAR BENZ FBS3 Kit is a set of accessories for performing key programming and ECU operations on Mercedes-Benz vehicles with the FBS3 system. The kit consists of the C4-04 adapter, the C4-05 cable, and the AKL for Benz -V1 cable set, enabling operations such as reading PIN code, resetting ECU to virgin state, programming, and learning keys. The set supports operations on EIS, ECM, TCM, ISM, and ELV and targets a wide range of Mercedes-Benz models, including A-, B-, C-, E-, S-, G-, GL-, GLK-, GLS-, ML-, CL-, CLK-, CLS-, SLC-, SLK-, and SLS-Class on chassis such as W169, W204, W212, W221, and W463.
The accessories are used in combination with the OBDSTAR KEYMASTER G3 and MP001 Programmer. The C4-04 adapter serves as the interface to the EIS component, while the C4-05 cable provides the connection between adapter and programmer. Communication with the vehicle for All Key Lost procedures is established via the AKL for Benz -V1 cable set. During the operation, functions such as calculating PIN code via working key, reading BE Key PIN code, reading key data, generating key file, erasing BE Key, and writing BE Key are performed, as well as setting personalization after ECU reset.

Applications and functionalities
The OBDSTAR BENZ FBS3 Kit supports the following operations on Mercedes-Benz FBS3 systems:
- Calculate PIN code via working key: Calculates the PIN code using an existing, working key as a reference for further key operations.
- Calculate pincode via AKL: Calculates the pincode in an All Key Lost situation when no working key is available.
- Read BE Key pincode: Reads the pincode directly from a BE Key for use in key programming.
- EIS reset to virgin state: Returns the Electronic Ignition Switch to factory state so the component can be reprogrammed.
- ECM reset and programming: Resets the engine ECU and enables reprogramming after replacement or coupling issues.
- TCM reset and programming: Resets the transmission ECU and reprograms it for vehicle coupling.
- ISM reset and programming: Resets and programs the Intelligent Servo Module after replacement or malfunction.
- ELV reset and programming: Resets the Electronic Steering Lock and reprograms it for correct operation.
- Read key data: Reads existing data from a key for analysis or duplication.
- Generate key file: Creates a new key file based on the read vehicle data.
- Erase BE Key: Erases the contents of a BE Key so it can be rewritten.
- Write BE Key: Writes new key data to a BE Key for use in the vehicle.
- Set personalization: Configures personalization settings after an ECU reset so the vehicle correctly recognizes the components.
