The OBDSTAR MS80 STD update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the MS80 STD for one year. The MS80 is available in two versions: an STD and a Basic, each with its own separate licence. This renewal applies to the STD version.
While your licence is active, you can download every new software version through the update menu on the device, which includes new vehicle coverage, expanded maintenance functions and fixes to existing software. We link the licence to the serial number of your MS80 STD and process it within one working day. After expiry, the device continues to operate on the last installed version.

How does it work in practice?
From order to updated device takes four steps. The serial number is the only thing you need to find yourself.
- Provide serial number: Supply the serial number of your MS80 STD in the order comments field.
- Activation: We link the licence to that serial number, typically within one working day.
- Connect device: Switch on the MS80 STD and connect it to wifi; keep it on the charger whilst downloading.
- Install updates: Open the update menu and install the available versions.
