The OBDSTAR M002 battery clamp power cable is an accessory that serves as an external power source for OBDSTAR diagnostic and key programming equipment. The cable connects directly to the vehicle’s 12V battery via two insulated battery clamps, allowing the host device to operate without relying on the OBD port or another power source. On the device side, the cable is equipped with a DC plug that fits the power input of compatible OBDSTAR tools.

During use, the technician clamps the red clamp to the positive terminal and the black clamp to the negative terminal of the battery, then inserts the DC plug into the host device. The integrated fuse in the cable harness protects both the connected device and the vehicle battery against short circuits and overcurrent. This power method is especially useful for key programming outside the vehicle, bench work, and situations where the OBD port is unavailable or occupied.

Good to know: Always connect the red clamp to the positive terminal first, then the black clamp to the negative terminal. Before use, check that the fuse in the cable harness is intact — a blown fuse completely blocks the power supply and is easy to replace without removing the cable.
