The Jaltest JDC536A is the diagnostic cable for the rectangular 12-pin connector on Komatsu earthmoving equipment. On the machine side, it features a grey Deutsch housing with an orange seal containing twelve positions arranged in two rows of six; on the interface side is a black 16-pin OBD2 connector. The connection is located in the cab and the cable measures 28 to 30 cm.

Through this interface, diagnostic equipment accesses the machine network and connects to the engine control unit ENG, hydraulic control PUMP, instrument cluster MON and, on wheel loaders, the transmission control module TRANS. These control units provide fault codes, measured values and maintenance data within the coverage scope: ECU data and supplementary functions are not included. The cable is compatible with Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines).

IMPORTANT NOTES

✕Komatsu control units do not have ECU data available; therefore you cannot read out the serial number and software version.
✕The ECM Cummins engine control is listed in the coverage list, but without supported diagnostic functions.
✕Only for the rectangular 12-pin Komatsu connector with the orange seal; other machine manufacturers use their own connector.
✕Construction equipment is not subject to OBD requirements: the manufacturing year does not indicate the connector type — only the connector in the cab determines compatibility.

Applications and functionality

Through this connection you can access the control units of the machine using Jaltest software. Which systems are present varies depending on the model and specification.

Control units you can access

  • ENG, engine control: The engine control unit of the machine, including fault codes, measured values and maintenance data.
  • PUMP, hydraulic control: The regulation of the hydraulic pump system.
  • MON, instrument panel: The instrument panel in the cab.
  • TRANS, transmission: The transmission control unit, fitted to WA wheel loaders.

What you can do

  • Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit, with descriptions of detected faults.
  • View measured values: The current sensor readings connected to the control unit, displayed as figures and graphs.
  • Consult maintenance data: The service intervals and work carried out per control unit, with service report.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The connector type determines compatibility, not the model.This cable fits any Komatsu earthmoving machine equipped with the rectangular 12-pin diagnostic connector. The following series are covered by Jaltest OHW support; check which connector is fitted in your cab on site.

Good to know: The 12-pin connector is located in the cab and can be identified by the grey housing with orange sealing and two rows of six positions. Construction equipment is not subject to OBD requirements, so Komatsu has retained this connector across multiple machine generations. Therefore, check which connector is fitted to your machine before ordering.
