The Jaltest JDC112A is the adapter between the 7+7-pin connection with PLC communication per SAE J2497 and the 9-pin Deutsch connector of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. This 7+7-pin connection is located at the coupling between towing vehicle and trailer; on the other side, the adapter therefore does not terminate in a 16-pin OBD2 but in a 9-pin Deutsch. The Jaltest catalog lists it as the Deutsch 9-pin PLC adapter, with dimensions of 18.2 x 26 cm and compatible with the Link V8.1 and V9.
The cable opens the diagnostic line to trailer systems that transmit their data over the power line. With PLC (power line carrier per SAE J2497), the trailer's data communication runs over the power line instead of a separate data bus — the way trailer ABS communicates in North America. This allows your diagnostic equipment to reach trailers without their own CAN diagnostic connector, which communicate only via the lighting power supply. Which control units and functions you then see depends on the trailer and the modules in your license. The cable falls under Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles).
