The Autel MaxiSys MS909S2 update licence extends your right to software updates for the MaxiSys MS909S2 by one year. What the device can do is determined by the software, not the hardware. The MS909S2 is an 11-inch tablet running Android 13 with an eight-core processor, 12 GB of working memory and 256 GB of storage, and it communicates with the vehicle via the MaxiFlash VCI2.

The licence is tied to the serial number of your MaxiSys MS909S2, not to an account or a code. We activate it within one working day on the serial number of your device. An extension maintains vehicle coverage, the coding files and more than 48 service functions. Once the term expires, nothing changes to what is already on the device, but new software will no longer be added.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕One licence applies per serial number, so a second MS909S2 in the same workshop needs its own extension.
✕The MS909S2 has no built-in oscilloscope; it is found in the MS919S2 and the Ultra S2, and a licence does not change that.
✕The ECU programming applies to a defined list of BMW and Mercedes models, not to the entire range.
✕Downloading requires a stable Wi-Fi connection; on a busy guest network, a large update may take a long time.

Applications and functionality

Three things on the MaxiSys MS909S2 are linked to the licence. The vehicle coverage determines which vehicles the device recognises, the function files determine what it may do with them, and the online services provide what comes from outside.
