The OTOFIX D1 Max 2 update licence extends your right to software updates for the D1 Max 2 by one year. The D1 Max 2 is an Android tablet with a 10.1 inch screen and the wireless V1 interface. The device reads all systems on more than 10,000 car models from Asian, European, American and Chinese brands. For Volkswagen and Audi, it goes further, with online IMMO, guided fault-finding with tips per fault code, and hidden functions refresh.

We register the serial number of your D1 Max 2 with OTOFIX for a new period. This is usually done within one working day, and you do not need to enter an account or code yourself. With the extension, the vehicle coverage, the service functions and the Volkswagen and Audi functions continue to grow. If you stop, the tablet will simply keep working with the software installed on it at that time.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕If you have not updated for a year or longer, you will get a large catch-up download; allow some time for it.

Applications and functionality

For the D1 Max 2, the licence revolves around two things: which cars the tablet recognises, and which workshop procedures are available for them. Below, for each side, you can see what an extension does and does not change.

What an extension gives you

  • System diagnostics: New brands, models and model years are added for reading, clearing, live data and active tests.
  • Maintenance and reset: Procedures such as oil service, electronic parking brake, brake bleeding, steering angle sensor and exhaust aftertreatment follow newer vehicles.
  • Electric drive: Functions relating to the high-voltage battery and transport mode are expanded for recent hybrid and electric models.

What happens without an extension

  • Software version: The D1 Max 2 stays on the last installed version, without new corrections.
  • Volkswagen and Audi: Online IMMO and the guided functions may fall short on newer models.
  • Existing work: Reading and clearing codes and live data on the cars already supported remain available.

How does it work in practice?

You provide the serial number, and we arrange the registration with OTOFIX. After that, there are four steps remaining.

  1. Providing the serial number: Note down the serial number of the D1 Max 2 and provide it with your order.
  2. Activation: We register the serial number with OTOFIX, usually within one working day.
  3. Preparing the tablet: Connect the D1 Max 2 to the charger and link it to a stable Wi-Fi network.
  4. Installing updates: Open the update menu, select the available versions and start the installation.
