The Launch ADAS software activation unlocks the ADAS software on your Launch X-431 tester. With that software you calibrate a vehicle's driver assistance systems: the camera behind the windscreen, the radar in the front and the sensors that belong to them. Without the activation that part of the software remains locked, however complete your tester is otherwise.

The activation is tied to the serial number of your tester, not to an account or a code. We activate it within one working day on the serial number of your device. Please note that ADAS calibration with Launch always requires two things: this software on an X-431 tester, and a calibration frame that places the target in the correct position for the vehicle. The frame is hardware and is purchased separately.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕One activation applies per serial number, so a second tester in the same workshop requires its own activation.
✕A calibration frame is essential and is not included here: without a frame the target is not in the correct position and there is nothing to calibrate.
✕A Launch X-431 tester is always required; for the X-431 ADAS Pro+, Launch names the X-431 EURO, the EURO LINK and the EURO TURBO II.
✕This is an activation and not an annual renewal; the software updates for the tester itself are provided through the update licence of that device.

Applications and functionality

An ADAS calibration consists of three parts, all of which must be correct. The software on the tester guides the procedure, the frame places the target at the prescribed distance and height, and the vehicle must be correctly prepared.

What the activation unlocks

  • ADAS procedures: The calibration routines for camera and radar systems become available in the menu of your tester.
  • Working from diagnostics: You read the fault codes and live data of the driver assistance system in the same environment.
  • Static calibration with target: The procedures that require a target for the vehicle are supported once you have a frame.

What you need yourself

  • A Launch X-431 tester: The activation is applied to the serial number of that device.
  • A calibration frame: Launch offers the 3-in-1 Radar Kit, the X-431 ADAS Mobile, the X-431 ADAS Pro+ and the X-431 ADAS Pro+ V2.
  • A suitable workspace: A static calibration requires space around the vehicle and a level floor, because the distances are measured.

How does it work in practice?

It takes place in four steps. The first calibration usually takes the most time, because the frame then still has to be assembled and aligned.

  1. Serial number: We need the serial number of your X-431 tester to link the activation; it is shown in the settings menu under the device information.
  2. Registration with the manufacturer: We register your serial number for the ADAS software, usually within one working day.
  3. Retrieving the software: Ensure power and a stable Wi-Fi connection, and retrieve the ADAS software via the update menu.
  4. Assembling the frame: Set up the calibration frame according to the procedure on the screen and align it with the vehicle.
