The Jaltest 29786 is the software activation for Jaltest ADAS, the module for calibrating and reading advanced driver assistance systems on commercial vehicles. This covers the cameras, radars and sensors behind adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, collision warning and the emergency braking system – systems that must be realigned after a collision or repair before the vehicle can return to the road.
ADAS is not a standalone module: Calibration requires equipment – a portable frame with targets, and for radar a dedicated calibration kit – while the Jaltest software runs the procedure and evaluates the measurement. Both static calibration on the workshop floor and dynamic calibration during a test drive are supported. You will need a Jaltest Link as well. From the second year onwards, you keep the module current with an update licence: 29787 for twelve months or 29788 for three years.

Applications and functionality
Jaltest ADAS is the module for calibrating and reading advanced driver assistance systems on commercial vehicles. This activation unlocks that module. The calibration itself uses the equipment; the software runs the procedure and confirms whether the alignment is correct.
Which systems you calibrate
- ACC: Adaptive cruise control, which maintains distance to the vehicle ahead.
- LDW: Lane departure warning, which alerts when the vehicle drifts out of its lane.
- FCW: Forward collision warning.
- AEB: Autonomous emergency braking, which applies the brakes if the driver does not.
When calibration is needed
- After a collision: Even if damage appears minor: a displaced sensor will give incorrect readings.
- After replacing a control unit: The new unit does not know the position of the camera or radar.
- After suspension or geometry work: Adjustments to the suspension or geometry alter the reference points the system relies on.
- If the system behaves incorrectly: It responds too early, too late, or without reason.

- Dynamic calibration: Whilst driving, when the system needs to adjust itself during a test drive.
- System scan: The software identifies which driver assistance systems are fitted to the vehicle.

- Live measurement values: Camera, radar and sensor readings as you adjust the setting.
- Component control: Targeted actuation to verify a sensor or actuator responds.

The three variants
Jaltest ADAS is available in three versions with identical coverage and functionality. The difference lies in what you purchase – the initial purchase, a twelve-month renewal, or a three-year renewal – not in what you can do with it.

What you need
To perform calibration you will need more than this product: The software executes the procedure, but alignment is carried out with specialist equipment. The complete setup is detailed below.
- Jaltest Link: The diagnostic interface. Required, even to start the software on a PC.
- The module itself (29786): This product. You purchase it once only.
- Update licence (29787 or 29788): Twelve months or three years, from the second year onwards.
- Carrying frame for calibration targets (50001008): Purchased separately.
- Radar calibration kit (50001003): Purchased separately.
- Calibration template for Mercedes-Benz MirrorCam (50001018): Purchased separately.
- Targets: Vehicle-specific and purchased separately; which you require depends on the marques you service.

How does it work in practice?
From order to working module there are four steps. The serial number of your Jaltest Link is all you need to find yourself.
- Provide the serial number: Include the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the notes field when you place your order; this is required.
- We activate it: We link the module to that serial number, usually within one working day after your order.
- Confirmation by email: You will hear from us as soon as the module is on your serial number.
- Update software: Launch Jaltest Diagnostics and retrieve the module; ADAS will then appear in the main menu.
