The Jaltest 29788 is the three-year update licence for Jaltest ADAS. It extends in one transaction a module already registered to your serial number, rather than renewing annually. Coverage and functionality are identical to the one-year renewal (29787); the difference is the licence period.

ADAS is not a standalone module: Calibration is performed with equipment – a portable frame with targets, and for radar a dedicated calibration kit – whilst the Jaltest software executes the procedure and validates the measurement. Both static calibration on the workshop floor and dynamic calibration during a test drive are included. If you do not renew, the module becomes locked and you cannot calibrate or read data with it. If you do not yet have the module, begin with software activation (29786); if you prefer twelve months instead of three years, that is 29787.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕Paying three years upfront also means committing for three years. If you are uncertain whether ADAS work will become a regular part of your service offering, the one-year renewal (29787) is the more cautious choice.

✕Calibration equipment is not included. Without the portable frame (50001008) and the target for your vehicle, you cannot calibrate.

✕The Jaltest Link is mandatory. Without that interface, the software will not start on the PC.

✕Please provide the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the notes field when placing your order; without that number we cannot activate the licence.

Applications and functionality

Jaltest ADAS is the module for calibrating and reading driver assistance systems on commercial vehicles. This renewal keeps that module active and provides the calibration procedures released during that period. Calibration itself is performed using dedicated equipment; the software executes the procedure and validates whether the setting is correct.

Which systems you calibrate

ACC: Adaptive cruise control, which maintains distance to the vehicle ahead.
LDW: Lane departure warning, which alerts when the vehicle drifts out of its lane.
FCW: Forward collision warning.
AEB: Autonomous emergency braking, which applies the brakes if the driver does not.

When calibration is needed

After a collision: Even if damage appears minor: a displaced sensor will give incorrect readings.
After replacing a control unit: The new unit does not know the position of the camera or radar.
After suspension or geometry work: Adjustments to the suspension or geometry alter the reference points the system relies on.
If the system behaves incorrectly: It responds too early, too late, or without reason.

Jaltest ADAS is available in three versions with identical coverage and functionality. The difference lies in what you purchase – the initial purchase, a twelve-month renewal, or a three-year renewal – not in what you can do with it.

Good to know: Both extensions are listed in the webshop under the same type of title; the difference is the duration. 29787 is twelve months, 29788 is three years. If you're unsure which one applies to you, please provide the serial number of your Jaltest Link with your order; we'll check your current expiry date.

How does it work in practice?

From order to renewed licence is four steps. No reinstallation is needed and your calibration equipment remains unchanged.

Provide serial number: When placing your order, state the serial number of the Jaltest Link on which the existing licence is registered.
We handle the renewal: We activate the renewal on that serial number, typically within one working day of your order.
Email confirmation: We'll contact you once the new expiry date is set on your serial number.
Update the software: Launch Jaltest Diagnostics and retrieve the latest version; ADAS remains in the start menu.

💡

Good to know: If you renew within fifteen days after the expiry date, the new period runs from that expiry date; afterwards it begins on the renewal date.
