Topdon CarPal Car Diagnostic Tool

The Topdon CarPal is a compact and user-friendly Bluetooth Diagnostic Tool (dongle) that turns your smartphone (iOS or Android) into a smart diagnostic tool. By simply plugging the dongle into your car's OBD2 port and connecting it to the CarPal app, you get immediate access to a wide range of diagnostic information and service functions. It is the ideal solution for motorists who want to quickly check their vehicle's health, understand fault codes, and perform simple maintenance tasks themselves.

The CarPal app guides you through the entire process, from identifying the vehicle to performing a full system scan and generating reports. The system is designed for ease of use and offers features such as a complete vehicle health check, live data streaming, and even a performance test to measure your car's acceleration. This makes the CarPal a versatile tool for every car owner.

Diagnostic functions:

All diagnostic functions are performed via the Topdon CarPal app on your smartphone.

• Complete vehicle health check: Scans all supported systems in the vehicle for fault codes (DTCs) and provides an overall health score.
• Engine inspection: Reads and clears specific fault codes from the engine management. Provides details and maintenance suggestions for detected faults.
• Live data stream: Views real-time data from vehicle sensors. Data can be displayed as values, in a graph, or as a gauge. Up to four data streams can be combined for direct comparison.
• I/M Readiness: Checks whether the vehicle's emission-related systems are functioning correctly and are ready for an inspection and maintenance check.

Maintenance and service functions:

The CarPal app supports 6 common service functions:

• Oil and service interval reset: resets the maintenance interval in the onboard computer after an oil change or service.
• Throttle body learning: this function recalibrates the electronic throttle body, which is necessary for stable idling and correct throttle response after cleaning or replacement.
• Electronic parking brake (EPB) service mode: deactivates and reactivates the braking system so that brake pads and calipers can be safely replaced.
• Battery registration (BMS): registers a new battery with the vehicle's Battery Management System (BMS) for proper charging control and to optimize lifespan.
• Diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration: starts a forced regeneration cycle to burn off accumulated soot in the filter and clear blockages.
  

Additional functions:

• Battery test: Checks the battery condition by displaying real-time voltage and starting voltage.
• HUD (Head-Up Display): Use your smartphone to project essential driving data, such as speed, onto the windshield.
• Performance test: Precisely measure the vehicle's acceleration, for example the time from 0 to 100 km/h.
• Repair guide for fault codes (DTC): A built-in database with common solutions and repair instructions for OBD2 fault codes.
• Warning light library: Provides an overview and explanation of the meaning of various warning lights on the dashboard.

Reporting features:

• Diagnostic reports: Generate and save reports of vehicle scans and live data.
• Diagnostic history: View an overview of all previously performed diagnoses.
