The Jaltest 74502016 is the software activation for Marine Petrol Engine. It is the same module as the software activation (74502011): identical coverage, identical functions and identical operation. The difference lies in the reference number under which Cojali supplies it and the price attached to it.
Which of the two you need depends on how your Jaltest software is configured. Therefore, when placing your order, provide the serial number of your Jaltest Link; we will verify it before activation. The Jaltest Link itself remains necessary in both cases, and from the second year onwards you keep the module current with the update licence (74602011).

Applications and functionality
Marine Petrol Engine is Jaltest diagnostics for petrol engines within the Marine package, from inboard and outboard to jet ski and stationary. This activation unlocks that module, just like the other activation in the table below. What you do with it subsequently depends on the engine and the connection you use.
What you can do with it
- Systems and fault codes: The software recognises the control units present and reads out the fault codes, with their descriptions.
- Live measurements: Engine speed, pressure, temperature and other parameters whilst the engine is running.
- Actuation: Direct actuation of components to verify they respond.
- Calibrations and settings: The calibrations and parameter settings that Jaltest offers per system.
- Symptom-based fault finding: Guided search paths that start from the complaint rather than the fault code.
- Technical information: Releases, procedures and manual diagnostics for the systems you access.
- Expert mode: Select a control unit manually when automatic selection is not suitable.

Marine Petrol Engine works on petrol engines within the Marine package, from inboard and outboard to jet ski and stationary. The brands listed below are covered by Jaltest Marine; which systems are available per engine varies by model and year of manufacture.
Outboard motors
The petrol engines within the fifteen makes that Jaltest covers here.
- European: Selva.
- Asian: Honda, Nissan, Suzuki, Tohatsu, Yamaha.
- North American: Evinrude, Johnson, Mariner, Mercury, Mercury Racing, Seven Marine, Vanguard Power.
- Chinese: Hidea, Parsun.
Jet skis and water scooters
The five makes that Jaltest covers here; these engines almost all run on petrol.
- European: HSR-Benelli.
- Asian: Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha.
- North American: Sea-Doo (BRP).
Inboard and stationary
The petrol versions within those categories, such as the Volvo Penta Gasoline and Mercury Mercruiser engines. The diesel versions fall outside this.

Marine works by category. If you also service other engines, you add the corresponding licence.

The Marine Petrol Engine range comprises three variants with identical coverage. The difference lies in what you purchase – a one-time purchase or a renewal – not in what you can do with it.

What you need
To diagnose with Marine Petrol Engine you need more than this product. The complete setup is shown below.
- Jaltest Link: The diagnostic interface. Required, even to start the software on a PC.
- The module itself (74502016): This product. You purchase the module once under reference 74502016; the other activation (74502011) is the same module under a different number.
- Adaptor cables (optional): Marine vessel cable kit (70002008) and Marine jet ski cable kit (29985). If you don't have these, you can connect using the multipin set included in your Jaltest case.

How does it work in practice?
From order to working module there are four steps. The serial number of your Jaltest Link is all you need to find yourself.
- Provide the serial number: Include the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the notes field when you place your order; this is required.
- We activate: We bind the module to that serial number, typically within one working day of your order.
- Confirmation by email: You will hear from us as soon as the module is on your serial number.
- Update software: Launch Jaltest Diagnostics and retrieve the module; then Marine Petrol Engine will appear in the start menu.
